Definitely get the book first and max it. It's worth it. Now that it's chaos, given some time, it should be easier to get a hold of the book.

@cooldylen: If I could afford DS20, I'd have DS at 30. Who knows, maybe I'll rob points from other skills like PRevenge with the SP resets.

You kind of messed up. 30 DS, 1 SI (speed doesn't change at 11), time leep (for bossing) is most important in early Bucc-hood.
30 on DS is the key to leveling.

With mobs dropping "Secret Mastery Books" now(Or atleast SOME dropping them), the chances to get DS20 is hopefully equal to the chances to get any other Mastery Book, so people don't need to hunt at Blue Wyverns or whatever else drops it. Hopefully more will circulate into the economy with these new Secret Books.

Eh, mine wasn't THAT expensive(~30m). Part of it has to do with the fact that mesos are a LOT easier to come by nowadays. Way back on my first account the fastest training was Ludi PQ and mesos were a lot more valuable way back then. I don't even think there were GFA 60%'s back then(Altough I can't be sure, I quit as a level 39 Cleric with skills like 4 Teleport, 1 Bless, 5 Invincible, ect).

Mesos being a lot easier to come by is a part of it, crappy drop locations and the influx of Buccs is another part. Newer you are, cheaper it was(Cept perhaps when Pirates JUST came out because new classes tend to inflate for a while).

Exact opposite here, it was 120~150 mill for a while then it shot up to 250mill+ in scania.

EO could debatably be an option due to the fact that it's also a mobber and if you hit five or more targets, it would do more damage(Possibly even four), which would help with training. Altough I can't speak for four mob situations, if it bounces off five or more you should be doing more damage. Barrage is for after you get your core skills maxed and Demo isn't situational, it IS your 1v1. If you boss a lot(Which you don't, but you may in the future) or if you see 1v1 situations in LHC, that's where Demo is used.

You can hold points if you want to, but IMHO it's a waste and something that I'd never do. I mean if you see the benefits of holding it for DS, go ahead, but this is just my oppinion. I'd rather have skills I can use than points wasting away. I wouldn't reccomend wasting all your cash on DS20, if it fails, you're screwed. Save up and when you have enough to afford it when failing won't gimp you financially, THEN get it.

@Tricks122 ; The only boss I do is Pap by myself usually. I can't Zakum since I don't have many friends or a bossing guild. XD So I guess I'll max ST then hold points for DS? I know holding onto SP is useless until you actually get the book but I don't see a point in EO, Demo, or barrage since they're all situational. Demo would be the only hugely good one but I don't think I boss enough to do that. So it's either MW or DS.. I guess I'll try to spend all my cash on a DS20?..

@ZombieFredo If you train(LHC or normal grinding) more than you boss holding on to points for ST would benefit you more. But if you boss a lot where a higher level Demo would make a difference(If you're going along with some 16x buddies to Zak... No offence, but your damage means very little), so mainly when you're a good damage dealer, Demo would be nice to have. Points in MW before DS is really for desperation. By the time you have ST, Demo and PR maxed, you can HOPEFULLY start bossing or hunting to be able to support yourself financially to get DS20.

ST for a training or training/bossing mix, Demo for a purely bossing(Or frequent bossing) where it will make a difference. If you boss with people who dish out two or three times the damage of your Demo, there's no real point in getting Demo since it's not going to make much of a difference. I highly suggest that when you NEED a book, you go look for it in FM before doing any hardcore training. Having SP just sitting there sucks since it's not going to any use and your levels are worth less(Instead of being "worth" 12 more seconds CD off of ST and 5 STR, for example, they are only worth 5STR). But if you REALLY can't find DS20 afterwards(I assume this would be post-Chaos), EO is probably the more sensible option instead of MW to benefit from better mobbing, unless of course you solo boss or boss with people who have no MW, where MW would be usefull.

wait till chaos.... with pvp giving secret mastery books plus bosses... you should get it easier

@IamAPPLEpie Don't touch Barrage until DS is maxed. An attack you'll be using for 1/10th of the time or a good mobber you can use consistently? DS outshines it in terms of priority.

@Magegurl13 I've got a guide up(As iLikePapayas said) that gives you some optional builds to follow if you can't find DS20 depending on if you train, train/boss or just boss. I suggest you read it.
