BitDefender 2010 Help

Hello, I'm wondering if anyone knew where I could get the 2010 Bitdefender setup File. I am not looking for BitDefender 2011, otherwise I would just download it directly from their website.

I've seen a few mirrors, but I'm not sure which is safe.

PS: I never use AV's, and never am the cause of getting viruses(Darn parents and brother). However, I want to get BitDefender so that my computer will have at least something instead of MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, Super Anti-Spyware, and Avira in the background in case there's a virus/trojan outbreak on my other laptop.

The laptop I'm using is recently reformatted(finally fixed the drivers), and here are it's specs:

HP dv9700
AMD Turion x64 x2
2gb DDR2
160gb HDD
NVIDIA GeForce 7150M (Integrated)

Main Purpose of laptop: Storage of Photos, Music, Movies(Videos)
Main Programs used: Photoshop Elemends 8, iTunes, Sony Vegas 8

Should I stick with my MWBAM, SAS, and Avira combo? Or is Bitdefender 2010 going to cripple my computer performance?

I just decided to use avast on the hp, bub I'm still using mcafee on my m11x. I am trying to figure out if avast will give me better performance than mcafee while playing WoW with my computers' specs. But I can't seem to find the answer... Debating over which will perform better during gameplay and which is better overall

At Windows saying it can't find the antivirus: to disable the tray icon and the bubble, it's as easy as going to Windows Security and under Antivirus, disable the setting to check for an AV. I know you don't wanna change settings but it's as easy as that.

Yeah, MWB and SAS, I would definitely keep. (Not sure why I mentioned I would remove it lol).

It sucks, because I got a code in-mail for BD's 2010 version for a free year of use which I wanted to use(Doesn't work on the 2011 version, I tried). I was also considering using BD because since I reformatted my computer using the HP recovery, it's looking for the AV program on the computer, which apparently Avira is not classified as one, and I wanted to get that annoying bubble out of the way (without the methods of editing coding functions and computer settings).

I thought they would have the BitDefender 2010 setup floating around somewhere, just like they do with v62 MS versions and whatnot. I guess I was too late to jump on the train haha

PS: I also have my alienware m11x laptop which came with mcafee (1 year use)
I was wondering if it would be better to switch to avast or something so that the AV doesn't cripple gaming performance.

The stats on my m11x are here:
i7 640M core
4gb DDR3
1gb nvidia geforce 335m
HDD

Right now, it's doing fine and I notice a very very minimal disturbance in lag(might be magnified if on another computer), but I was wondering if using Avast will have better performance because it has a 'silent gaming mode'? Or should I just stick with mcafee?

Nope, don't know. Chances are it is has become obsolete and discontinued, meaning it may have stopped or will stop being updated. Either way, a safe bet is to upgrade it since companies like BitDefender who offer paid software tend to do yearly upgrading and forget any older versions of the software.
BitDefender is an anti-virus program. It is not a replacement to SAS or Malwarebytes, which are programs designed for different things, SUPERAntiSpyware being anti-spyware, Malwarebytes being anti-malware (which means any malware, that is spyware, adware to nasty viruses and rootkits, therefore I suggest you still keep Malwarebytes). These programs were designed for their different purposes, removing one could mean other areas and threats could be left unchecked.
Avira is already an anti-virus, unless you found that is not of your liking or you found something wrong with it.

If I got Bitdefender, that would replace Avira... meaning I would uninstall Avira, MWB, and SAS.

I'm just looking for the 2010 setup, not the 2011 setup, do you know where I can download it?

Download the trial and set it up. If you're thinking about getting the full BitDefender version for free, that is not possible by legal means.
Either way, you have Avira. Isn't that enough? You don't need two anti-viruses, that will cripple your computer performance plus it can cause conflicts between the two when they're running at the same time.
