Questions About Sattelite Safety

Is it worth putting one point into? Is the satellite damage in effect even when the skill is not turned on? Where is this skill useful?
It's saved me numerous times while bossing. I have it at 3 for the extra damage to my satellites. The question is why wouldn't you want another skill? You should have an extra skill point from leaving Extreme Mech at 29 anyways (assuming you did this and didn't waste SP on some extra HP, MP and def)
I do have Extreme Mech at 29. The only things I don't have maxed are Safety, Giant Robot, MW, and Hero's Will. Giant Robot is almost completely useless. MW I'm just going to leave at 10 since party members can supply MW 30 and the skill books cost a fortune. I'm probably going to max Hero's Will after I get the Miniature Pianuses for that. Afterwards, I'll get Safety because guildies say that really saves your ass at Cygnus.

It works for me when monsters 1/1, but it cancels all of your satellites and has a cooldown. I don't recommend putting a point into it early on, and I would only suggest putting points into it for the passive damage boost to the satellites. I'm fairly sure that the damage boost is passive, so it should apply even when you don't have safety toggled on. And I guess the only time it would be useful would be at bosses that deal high damage.

Basically what happens is: suppose that you get hit by 4k damage, it will reduce the damage to only 800 at the cost of cancelling your satellites. So you'll have to re-summon your satellites, and then safety has a 10 second cooldown before you can toggle it back on. It's a bit of a pain for me to find it very useful

I put one point into my mech and I thought it would save me from 1/1 but it didn't... D: I don't know if this is still the case though
