Becoming a merch: advice?

Hi, Basil. I'm new to the game of actual merching, so far I've made my money with just selling stuff I find on my own or things that even noobs know are a great deal (3m beholder buff, etc). I have a regular shop permit and about 650m plus a few odds and ends to sell, but I want to keep at least 50m worth of items/mesos in case I fail miserably at merching and lose my money. I'm looking for a fairly low-risk way to make money (no white scrolls or any other wildly fluctuating items) until I get my feet on the ground. I had a few questions for pro or even fair-weather merchants who can give me some advice.

1. How do you recommend I familiarize myself with prices? I currently am working on an excel spreadsheet, didn't know if it was necessary or not.

2. Is Basil (the Recently Sold prices, NOT the Basil average) a decently reliable source for prices? For example, I looked in a shop and saw ADA 30 for 12m. I checked basil and multiple auctions had sold recently for 25-30m, so I bought the book. Now someone on my BL tells me basil sucks for prices and it's worth about 5m tops. Not sure how to feel atm.

3. Other than books and equipment scrolls (weapon, overall, earring, etc), are there any other fairly stable items I can merch?

4. If anyone in Windia is willing to buddy me, that'd be amazing. I know that once I venture into merching equips, it's a great idea to have friends with knowledge for certain class equips to help out.

Any and all help is appreciated! Thanks!

Alright so the basic idea I'm getting about my most important question (#2) is that basil prices are under avg and shop prices are above avg... so maybe use basil to find my "buying price" and shops for my "selling price" (also look for sold-out items in shops to find out exactly what people are willing to pay). If I'm wrong about this, please let me know.

1) Just scan the FM and try to get familiarized with the prices

2) ADA is worth a lot more than 5m I think there like 100m

3) Try buying bundles of scrolls or like cheap chairs

1. Just search around the FM, its the best way to find out which items are selling for a certain price, and which aren't.
2. NO.
3. If you have irl money, start cubing .
4. Sure you can add me

Since you're 160 almost, just go on plenty of boss runs. Get 25k nx and potential zhelms, and SOK them. Easiest and sort-of-fun way to do it, I haven't trained since 135 that way and I'm now 144. Other than that, I merch with 10 attacks, S> a zhelm for 90-110m, buy 60%s make a 10 att, sell for 300, B> one for 265, repeat.

What I do is go to auctions:Selling:Category of item:Look at price. If it is equip most times it will not be EXACT unless clean but fid something close and go from there. Also look around the shops and see how the "pros" do it.

EDIT: Also Basil prices are not EXACT but items such as like GFA 60% just add 1 mil higher then what they are offering then you got the price you can sell them
