Why do people keep asking this if they know how bad nexon has been, are you expecting something that hasn't been there ever since the beginning of this game? To answer your question, its not worth coming back, it's even more expensive now and will be every year you ask this. Maple is a dying game but nexon can take advantage of its high paying players cause they're blinded by adding more range to an already capped range. Even after you solo every boss in game, you'll end up as an afk in hene wondering what was the point of all this. -Been there done that
If you're curios about new things that has been added since you left then yes, Zero might be the easiest since it almost doesn't need funding to be strong.
A beginner, can't get cheaper than that.
