(have them installed without problems on 2 older computers with windows xp. tried installing illustrator on laptop with vista and had a similar error.)
For the first error, when you plug in your external hard drive does it come up as "C:"? Because C: is usually the windows system drive, and anyways the path its looking for for its library files lies in C:/Program Files so I assume this is exactly whats going on.
no i set it as "S" drive

I suppose the way to tell for sure about the compatibility would be to check the Adobe web site.

The first error makes it sound like the installation might be damaged. Did you try uninstalling and then reinstalling..?

Also, I remember someone else asking about the second error recently, but I don't remember ever hearing back what the solution was.

Again, the Adobe site might have info or a user forum that might explain what the errors mean and what to do about them.

One thought, have you tried installing on the computer's hard drive just to see if it works that way..? It -shouldn't- make any difference where it's installed, but I guess you never know.
