Torp vs Cannon vs Sharkwave

With the release of LHC, I've found myself to be using bsc, and with an abundance of sp, I decided to work on torp. I've been told by a friend that in all situations, cannon will always be greater than torp. So I was wondering, is this true? Are there any situations where torp will be greater or more effective than cannon?
Also, with the release of UA and the ability to obtain sharkwave, is it better than torp? I have yet to get sharkwave, so I was wondering if any of you sairs have gotten it yet and what your opinions are on it.

I would also like to direct the sharkwave question to buccaneers also, how useful is it in your 4th job training if you've gotten it?

You're saying include bullseye as if to suggest that bullseye+cannon on a single target outperforms torp on 3, which it still doesn't, because bullseye's damage can be applied in both situations. Thus including bullseye at all doesn't matter. If you really want to know bullseye %/min with cannon, multiply the numbers in that post by 1.2.
Well, Cannon fires at a rate of 95 shots per minute and deals a total of 1500% damage per shot when maxed, for a total of 142,500% damage per minute.
Level 1 Cannon does 101,175% damage per minute.

Torp fires at a rate of 77 shots per minute and deals 900% damage per target up to 6 targets when maxed.
Against 2 targets, Torp does 138,600% damage per minute. Against 3 targets, Torp does 207,900% damage per minute.

Based on this, Torp easily beats max Cannon against 3+ mobs, and does almost the same damage against 2 monsters.

There is also the situation with level 1 Torp. Level 1 Torpedo does 755% damage per hit, against up to 4 monsters.
This comes to 116,270% damage per minute against 2 monsters, and 174,405% damage per minute against 3 monsters.

Thus, max Cannon is stronger than maxed Torp against 1-2 monsters, but any level of Torp will outdamage maxed Cannon against 3+ monsters.
Also, any level of Torp always beats level 1 Cannon against 2+ monsters.

I'm too lazy to try and factor in crits, so you guys will just have to deal with non-critical math.

Sharkwave doesn't even come close to being able to compete with either Cannon or Torp, so I'm not going to bother plugging in numbers for that.
Helen<3 He explained it very well. If you want to skip the math work and do more practical work you realize this too. It doesn't matter if its boss or just mobs when the mob hits 3 or more torp becomes the better option. The best way to train in LHC is navigating the map together and applying mob skills rather than trying to steal a few extra exp 1v1ing 1 out of 3~6 monsters. As a party you guys can kill much faster and you can rack up some quick exp even using torp. May night be as high prettier numbers but trust me its good. Canon beats torp when ever the mob is 2 or less. Hope that helps if you need a demonstration anytime you could always stalk me when I'm not afk. xD

From experience I can tell you that Cannon is better at LHC because of two things:
One, you won't usually have more than 2 monsters to kill at a time if you're in a 6 person party and everyone is split up.
Two, you can't knock monsters back very well with Torpedo.

Thing is, on 3 or more monsters, Torp is better. If you're in a party, it might be worth it to just help kill monsters that are already held back..and move around in the party collectively...I don't really know the specific training methods for the area because I've only gone a few times...

For Buccaneers, Shark Wave is replaced by Dragon Strike at level 120. The only reason you would use Shark Wave is for the extra range to finish something off.

Sharkwave at max is 510% I believe, or somewhere around that. I wouldn't use it any training or bossing situation, but it may be useful for killing low level mobs quickly, for things such as questing and events

In LHC, cannon is definitely better than torp.
o: I understand that, but what if given a situation of a mob at lhc. With high hp, would it be better to take them down with cannon or torp? Thanks for the reply :]
Cannon, lol.

I have the same prob with my mech's 1v1 normal attack, or the laser. Can't find out which is better against lets say 2 mobs.
Cannon = 1v1
Torp and Sharkwave = mobbing

Cannon will always surpass both when bossing because its hits the most. Torp is better when hitting large mobs due to the fact that you can wipe them out faster. I'm guessing sharkwave's the same.. but I don't have a UE so yeah...
