How long has the Black Mage been around?
Long story short and sweet, played and quit before Big Bang, came back this (last? err, 2011's) summer and, Black Mage guy oh, cool. Finally Maplestory has a plot.
Then I find out Cygnus Knights were introduced in 2008, and I haven't made one yet, but I know they are involved with fighting against the Black Mage.
...Has this "Black Mage is back and causing chaos around the maple world oh noes" story been going on for 3 years?

Since the release of Pirates. Kyrin was the first one(as far as I know) to talk about the Black Mage(though she said very little on it), and some Nautilus quests talked of the Black Magician. The Black Mage wasn't really introduced as an apparent threat until Cygnus Knights though.
