I can't play ms cause the patcher is stuck at opening.avi, any solutions?

My guess is the Opening.avi file your friend gave you was already pacthed to v139. I was able to get MS to patch without re-downloading the entire game. What you do is make a copy of v138 MS and save it onto a flash drive. Next, re-install a older version of MS (I used v124) and than copy all the .avi files onto your flash drive. Next, un-install MS and move your v138 folder from your flash drive back into your C drive then put the .avi files in your v138 folder. Everything should work now, well, atleast it worked for me.
"corrupt file" means you'r using an outdated Opening.avi file. I too am looking for the Opening.avi file. I've posted a few request on some legit and illegitimate sites, see if someone comes through or not.
