I think Ikuras are afraid of the dark

During the day I've seen Ikura monsters spawn in the towns but when my buddy logged on tonight we couldn't find a single one, been hunting for a couple of hours now. This was the same deal as last night too, once midnight hit mapleworld the Ikura seem to stop spawning until about 6amish then they start spawning again.... has anyone noticed this? Maybe my buddy is just jinxed
