Do I need Facebook in order to reset my account?
I've heard of people saying it's required to sign up, but I have an account that was made before that. If I were to use the reset account option, would it force that security measure on me?

You don't need to verify your account in order to reset its info. What you need is to have access to the email attached to the account.
