Coming back to Maplestory
I have been away for a bit now, I played on and off for very short periods of time, but now I kinda feeling that urge to play. I am wondering if it would be worth coming back to. Are people any more social? Has the game gone back at all to being more about groups of people rather than everyone solo everything? And finally, if I did come back what classes would be the most fun to play (or should I just play my higher leveled luminous rather than starting over completely?)

Thanks for your help everyone. I think I will take your advice Mas and go find a guild with noobs and help them out =) could be fun and rewarding.
Okay, this is just my two cents.
Has the game become more social?
Depends. There are some open communities/guilds where they are social. But for the most part, most people have already gotten into their own cliques of people, and if they have, they most likely will ignore. My advice, don't join a upper-tier guild, join one with a mediocre one that has noobs. They're a lot more fun because they can't solo everything, so they do things as a guild.

No, the game is still soloing everything. It's not groups of people fighting a boss until you get to the hardest of the bosses, but to get to that point, you need to be hitting at least a few mils per line, which needs lots of funding.
The game will be what you make out of it. If you know what you're doing as you come back, you'll be fine. If you don't, it will be a waste of time.
@friendlydawn: Yeah, there people can solo/duo/trio them. A lot of the times, they go in full parties to abuse the drop system.
@redcravendude: are there even people who can solo? o.o

I'm only playing because a. friends b. Waiting until the anniversary to make more money and quit.

Either way these threads end in 90% don't come back and 10% come back so fun.
