A sword's dilemma

Howdy everyone, I've recently just bought a Pyrope Rohen with a 12 weapon attack potential, and i scrolled it to 97 attack, so now it has 109 attack. My other setup was a 97 atk Maple Pyrope sword, with no potential, and a 20 attack maple shield with 11 STR, the 1h sword and shield combination obviously adds up to a greater weapon attack, but when i wield the 2H Pyrope Rohen, it makes my attack range actually greater than the 1h sword and shield combo... Any explanations....?

2-Handed weapons have a higher multiplier than one-handed weapons.
In this case the multipliers are:
Rohen: 1.32
Sword: 1.20
The formula goes like this
Multiplier*((Main stat*4)+Secondary stat)*(ATK/100)
