Terraria question
I assumed expert mode was the new mode introduced in 1.3 but a friend of mine told me I have to beat all of the bosses to unlock the new mode. If this is true, then which mode has to be complete, Normal or Expert? I ask because I have been playing on softcore/smallworld/normal, and i'm confident enough to jump straight into the hardest mode that 1.3 offers. Also is it possible to transfer my current character and gear into a new world/mode or do I have to start fresh? Thx for any info!

When you beat the WoF, the world that you beat the WoF in will be in Hard Mode. The others won't be changed into Hard Mode until you beat the WoF in those worlds.
@mudkippiratez: ooh ok I see. Hmm, so when I do beat The Wall of Flesh, will only my current world be in Hard Mode or any world I make from there on out? thx for the info, much appreciated.
"Expert Mode" is part of the world creation.
Hard Mode is a progression that happens after you defeat the Wall of Flesh in a Normal/Expert World.
Characters can play/transfer from both worlds with a restriction. (Demon Heart slot)
Expert Mode is defiantly harder, but really fun. I suggest starting new rather than transferring.
