For the people who want to keep what is theirs

Long story short, my buddy got hacked for over 100B worth on his account. I usually just think people give their PW to others and share accounts. Use meso exploit websites or download viruses. But this is a buddy who is too smart for this kind mistake, yet he got hacked. Maybe you can blame the amount of security he had on the account, or simply NEXON.

This has opened my eyes to a whole new step in protecting my account. Now lets brainstorm on ideas how to permanently secure your account!

HACK Prevention:
-Stay out of MTS - I noticed that they do not have your ID on the top left anymore. Now it's just your IGN. Not sure how this change can protect you; but just to be safe, stay clear!
-Staying logged on: seriously? I do not have the time for this, what if I DC?
-Keep reentering the wrong PW on the site until your account is locked. - Very time consuming.
-Alt code? http://www.basilmarket.com/forum/2222500/1#comments_list

Tell me if this works -

After logging into the game, change your pw.
I would use the program 'character map' to put random symbols as my password (copy paste).
After changing my pw, i am unable to relog unless I change my pw via email back to a simple word; then repeat. Will this work as a prevention?
When i did try to change my pw with the symbols, it actually says error. So I can't relog if I copy and paste my symbol pw to the site login. But my old pw is replaced/erased, but it's as if I have no pw. The only way to get into my account is to change my pw via email.

Tell me what you think of this idea... I know it sounds like a hassle, but if you have billions worth on the account, you'd do anything to protect it!
It's called "infinite dilution", or "anonymity in numbers".

There are something like SEVEN MILLION accounts in GMS, so unless you do something to call attention to yourself, like being one of the top players, or a top merchant, or piss off a hacker, your odds of being hacked are SEVEN MILLION TO ONE.

If hackers just pick random accounts from among those 7,000,000 accounts, it will be a while before they get to yours.

In other words, you've been lucky.
Ask your friend's dad to explain what the exact mechanism is that lets hackers "intercept" the logins.
Because he won't be able to.

Ask him if they come to my house and plug into my home network, or break into Nexon's building and plug into their network.
Because once the login is out on the Internet, even in clear text, there's no way to "intercept" it reliably.

Since he works there, he should know, right?
Note: The Nexon website is https, you just have to manually type it in for some reason.
This is what I basically did.
So I changed my password to something similar to this
Example>> ËÌÍÎÏÐ''""2323146èéêëìíîïÃÄ...ÆÇÈÉ ‡ˆ‰ ‹'
I do have my email so I can reset it. Upon changing my pw. I used similar codes. It did change. I cant copy and paste it to log in tho. Thats a good thing. Im not planning to go on maple for a couple months. Ill come back when everything is fixed and what not.
nice; so the only way to log in is to reset pw. thats the main idea.
