Aran - Finishing the revamp

So Aran was given a nice buff to survivability; increase in mobility, status/element resistance, some more % DEF. But they are still lacking in damage, versus bosses at least, the last update ruining the whole chaining play style that they had. So I came up with a solution, to fix the chaining issue I don't know if the power is too much or still really weak.

So the solution I came up with is that as you chain skills together the next attack gets a buff to damage.

EX 1:
Current: Over Swing: 1st swing 240% x 2 + 520% x 2 + 640% x 2 = 2800%
With Buff: Over Swing: 1st swing 240% x 2 + 520% x 2 x 1.1 + 640% x 2 x 1.2 = 3160%

EX 2:
Current: Over Swing + Final Blow + Beyond Blade:
240% x 2 + 520% x 2 + 640% x 2 + 460% x 4 + 420% x 2 + 420% x 3 + 420% x 4 = 8420%
With Buff: Over Swing + Final Blow + Beyond Blade:
240% x 2 + 520% x 2 x 1.1 + 640% x 2 x 1.2 + 460% x 4 x 1.3 + 420% x 2 x 1.4 + 420% x 3 x 1.5 + 420% x 4 x 1.6 = 11306%

The drawback is you have to sit in the same spot for a long time to achieve that damage and are likely to get killed doing so but at least now you get a reward for taking a risk.

Current Skill DPS:
OS: 2804%/s OS | (2 hits): 3130%/s | FB (Key): 2104%/s | FB (Macro): 2726%/s | FBBB (Key): 2354%/s |
FBBB (Macro): 2570%/s

Skill DPS with the chaining buff:
OS: 3119%/s | OS (2 hits): 3312%/s | FB (Key): 2104%/s | FB (Macro): 2726%/s | FBBB (Key): 2714%/s |
FBBB (Macro): 2930%/s | OSFBBB (Key): 3273%/s | OSFBBB (Macro): 3462%

Also Final Blow (FB) and Beyond Blade (BB) both need a buff badly and Over swing (OS) needs the 3rd swing to be faster or do more damage as doing the first 2 swings does more damage than doing the whole thing.

Changes to skills:
OS: Delay on 3rd swing decreased OS delay time from 1.14s to 1s
FB: Hit count increased from 4 to 5, FB (key) Damage increased from 355% to 360%, FB (Macro) Damage reduced from 460% to 440%
BB: All of BB's Damage increased from 420% to 440%, BB 1 hit count increased from 2 to 3, BB 2 hit count increased from 3 to 4, BB 3 hit count increased from 4 to 5, 100% critical rate has been removed.

Skill DPS with chaining buff and buff from above:
OS: 3556%/s 6HPS | OS (2 hits): 3312%/s 7.02HPS | FB (key): 2667%/s 6.17HPS | FB (Macro): 3259%/s 0HPS | OSFB (Key): 3516%/s 6.08HPS | OSFB (Macro): 3861%/s 3.31HPS | FBBB (Key): 3684%/s 7.3HPS |
FBBB (Macro): 3890%/s 5.15HPS | OSFBBB (Key): 4316%/s 6.91HPS | OSFBBB (Macro): 4503%/s 5.41HPS

So yea not a bad buff.

Actually I came up with this one day when I couldn't sleep, just tested some numbers to make it more balanced other than that it took about 3 mins to come up with a solution to the class. Overall time spent on it was about an hour or so...
Anyways I should probably build on to this now as they have a revamp for us in testing, which only solved 1 problem which was that OS was stronger than FB/FBBB. So when I have time I think I'll come up with a full revamp to 4th job that would make us at lest mid-tier bossers and give us mobbing back =). Though first I have to figure out how strong every class is to make us balanced... *Starts crunching data then gets sidetracked*

This sounds like a really good idea. You put a lot of thought into it. Doubt it's gonna happen seeing as Nexon loves to make us the low-tier class.

Ah so it becomes an escape skill, sounds useful as Aran does have some skills that have a long delay.

What do you mean? Combat step is a mobility skill how would it cancel? Also keep in mind the said revamp wouldn't do much on making Aran stronger or more balanced with other classes, it would just make the higher level skills important again.

Also I'll be working on an idea for Tempest, as it is weak in a boss situation. Perhaps it should be great for damage, aka our DPS skill, or more of a support skill.

Apparently KMS is working on a resistance and Aran revamp... Anyone else scared lol, Now Aran will have no combos and will just spam 1 single attack >.>

We should also have 40% hp instead of 20% but that's asking for to much -_- It would be nice to be able to chain everything and anything, would defiantly make it more interesting chain CS into the attacks to get an even faster escape? But yea not likely to happen just like this isn't likely to happen, even though this would fix the remaining problems with balancing the skills.

Adding on to chaining the skills together indefinitely while doing that it takes out the first swing in OS? >.> That actually drops the damage.

@1512832: I agree people probably are just looking at the DPS charts and picking anything that's at the top. I've been trying to get Nexon to acknowledge that OS + FB not chaining is a bug but normally I get shot down by others saying its "Only macro and not meant to chain anymore" which doesn't make sense but yea...

@AsianFiesta: Not my problem if it's the same crap I just wish their was a reward system for taking more time to attack and less time to dodge, which is why I came up with this idea for a revamp. I also got tired of BB being worthless and FBBB doing less than OS. You should make a thread and ask for different skills if that's what your looking for.

I think it's a great idea. It seems people are looking at the DPS chart and picking the higher-ranked ones, and since Aran is at the bottom, they don't select it. Personally, Aran is one of the most fun classes. I do wish we could do the OS + FB chain again, though.
