Giving away 1 key

First to answer this riddle. I wont be reading pm.

3 guys wanted to rent a room in a hotel and was told by the Clerk that it was $30, so they paid $10 each.
The Clerk found out later that the room was actually only $25, so she gave them back $5 change.
The 3 guys didnt know how to split the change so they each took $1 back and gave the Clerk the remaining $2 as tip, so technically they each only paid $9.

$9 x 3 = $27 + the $2 tip = $29. What happened to the missing dollar?

Well, each guy has 10 dollars, let's say. They have 0 dollars after the bill. After getting 1 dollar each, 33 dollars is in this equation. 2 dollars is given to the clerk. So, the clerk never gave back 5 dollars from the 30 dollars; instead an EXTRA 5 dollars are added. So the hotel has 32 dollars and the men have 1 dollar each.

You did not mention the bellboy!
The bellboy had $5 and each guy paid $10. The clerk took 5 out of the 30 leaving $25 so all together the guys paid $25 the bellboy gave one dollar to each of them but they still paid only $25 altogether. 25 + the 3 they got back from the bellboy

Why are 3 guys in a hotel? Anyway, i think one of them heared the notice before the other 2, so he took the missing dollar.

Nothing. The 3 travelers paid a total of $27, making $25 for the hotel and $2 for the clerk. There is no missing $1.

pfchhh
30 dollars, so 10$ each, than they each took away 3$,
making the cost 27$, with the remaining 2$ included in the 27$ (25$ + 2$)
so each paid 9$

3 x 9 = 27 (tips included) + the 3$ they took back = 30~~

The three men paid $27, which amount they paid as $25 for the three separate hotel rooms, and $2 go to the bellman. So there is no other dollar at all.

there is no missing dollar, ur math is faulty its supposed to be $25 + $1*3 + $2tip = $30

where do u put in the key?

for the answer, im guessing the clerk stole it and stashed it either into the cash thingy that registers stuff or into his pockets :B

Lets work backwards!
$30-$2=$28
$28/3=$9.33
They did not lose a dollar, they each paid $9.33

If they gave $10 ea for 3 people it would be 30$ if the person gives back $5,gave 2 dollars as tip that would mean 5-2=3 left over for each person (3 people) so there is no missing dollar ;D pm the key >
