Disconnecting overnight

Every night I set up a shop with a permit and go to sleep. I close the lid of the laptop before leaving and every morning, I open my laptop only to find that I've been disconnected - with no kind of message at all.

Yes, I have my laptop set to "do nothing" when the lid is closed (both unplugged and on battery). Not only do I have it set to do nothing when the lid is closed, but also set to "never sleep". I know my laptop is not sleeping overnight. The only thing that happens is that the display is dimmed, but just moving my mouse or pressing any key will bring the screen back to normal. For the past week, I've been waking up to find myself d/c'd cleanly, no kind of error message. I also have a very stable internet connection so I'm stumped, I have no idea of what's going on.
Any thoughts or ideas to how/why this is happening?

Scenarios

Tonight I'll try keeping the lid open with the "turn off display" set to "never". I also noticed that my computer was automatically installing updates every day at 3:00 AM so that may have been a problem - I set it to "download the updates but let me install". Thank you all for the help, cheers.

If your screen turns off and you need to move the mouse, it means your monitor went to sleep and that often freezes maple after a while

It's pretty normal for a laptop to occasionally disconnect from wifi. Normally it reconnects fast enough that you won't notice when browsing the web but maple is annoying enough that if you even disconnect for an instant, you'll get logged off. An easy solution is to connect your laptop to your router using an ethernet cable. That way you won't ever be disconnected and hopefully that should solve your problem.

Wi-Fi can be extremely unreliable. Also my old laptop would still cut the network off when closing the lid, regardless of it sleeping or not.

Just leave the window up, and turn the sound off. That usually lets me stay online.

What I do is, leave my laptop lid open, I don't close it, it will still disconnect sometimes, but Maple still stays open. I woke up and mine was still up. Just don't close the lid of the laptop.
