Also to create a db from the start, you still need to select the DB tab and not the regular adventurers/explorers tab

This. On top of getting the Shadow Owl mount at 120, you can STILL also get the wild hog mount at 60/70, upgrade it to Silver Mane at 100, and then to the Red Draco at 200.
OT: I'm pretty sure they'll keep the mount, because it's similar to the Battleship and Super Transformation mounts. Which reminds me, do you keep the Battleship mount when changing from Corsair to Buccaneer? If so, can you still get the Super Transformation Mount, and will you be able to have both?

No, DBs are being removed because they have no unique qualities.

So you know how you can change your job at 100: ie: Dark Knight to Hero?

DBs are to transitioned to Shadowers.
