upgrade potion box question

Quick question basil. I have my shop open in the fm so my box will not turn into a potion until i close my shop. If i stay on maple for an hour and the box time limit expires but does not turn into a potion. What happens if i lag out? Do you think ill have to start over even if i stayed on for over an hour? I dont want to loose my spot in the FM and im going to work in a while so i dont have time to turn in the quest and find a new spot.
