Windows 10 on Ssd

Hi guys.

So this has been in my mind since Win10 was released. I'm currently running Win7 purely on a 120GB SSD, with 1TB HDD as pure storage (no RAIDs). However seeing that Win10 doesn't allow opting out of Windows Update, I was wondering if I should upgrade from Win7 to 10 on my SSD? My worry is that Windows Update will take up too much space to the point that my SSD will run out of space very soon. I don't plan to have a RAID set up, so setting up a RAID drive is out of the question (not to mention my data would be wiped). So guys, could anyone enlighten me?

@symbolics What happy3happy was talking about was ways of changing Windows 10 to disable Automatic Updates, or partially control the way it operates.
It's not pretty, and isn't the easiest thing ever, but apparently it can be done.
This is one article I found that describes how to do it on various versions of Windows 10:
Just remember to run either Windows Disk Cleanup or CCleaner to clean out any leftover downloads (the installation files) on a regular basis to keep the drive junk free.
Windows Update is important to make sure security patches are applied as soon as possible.

It would be nice if you could specify the download folder for Windows Update installation files to put them on the HDD, but as far as I know that's not an option.
Thanks bob, will try it out.
you can just go into the group policy to change it or the registry to disable it
Microsoft made Windows Update mandatory in Windows 10.

A 120gb os from microsoft would be pretty funny. Err I don't think the os takes up too much space as it's supposed to be more light weight from all the previous ones.

Unless you've been going without updates for a long time, it shouldn't affect your space too much. Updates are usually small anyways.

I just clean installed Windows 10 a few minutes ago in a 120GB Ultrabook and there's a decent amount of room on it left. I usually place films and stuff on an external so space isn't an issue though.
