This will solve MOST of your login problems!
Make a shortcut anywhere (like on your desktop or something) and direct it to
[i]C:/Nexon/Maplestory/Maplestory.exe GameLaunching[/i] and use that shortcut. It has helped me and [b]always[/b] works. Just change the / to the other one because for some reason basil won't let me show the opposite version of "/"
EDIT: This is on top of any advice that you may have read, ie making everything run on administrator if you are on Vista/Win7. But try my method before reinstalling at least (

Same problem. I dced from LHC and when I tried to login "Trouble logging in" message came up. Won't let me login through game launcher or website.
I still have that problem. Even if I log in through gamelauncher or the website.
