[reboot] NL really squishy, change to shadower?

Helloa,

Started reboot a couple days ago and went with a NL, however they seem to be really squishy, even with an autopot pet there is a chance i die when it fails. At lvl 135 now and it doesn't look like it's getting better.

Thinking about changing to shadower, how're they doing in reboot and will it make a difference? Also, how're they compared to a NL at mobbing/bossing? (with the reboot noob equips)

(prefer to not make a new character because of lvl x3 on this character)

Thanks

Took a break from Maple for years. Used to play a Paladin (The tankiest job) and picked NL on Reboot. Currently level 117 after two days, and I haven't really had issue with the squishiness even though it's leagues away from my Pally being able to take naps for days while sitting on top of mobs. I really like the gigantic hitbox of Showdown, as it allows me to mow down mobs from afar before they can really react enough to even scratch me and also allows me to sit in spots to hit mobs where they can't hit me back.

Also grinding at mobs like Spirit Vikings that only hit 1's on you if you Showdown them also helps. lol

Edit: I've never relied on autopot, as it's quite iffy. Just being in the rhythm of when to pot manually really makes things easier.

Always stance if you don't finish assassinate? Also, so happy I changed jobs, it was quite costly at my lvl, but totally worth it! I don't feel like a wet paper towel anymore. Also feels stronger in dps(including mobbing) but that might just be a feeling

Yesterday I reached lvl 140 on my NL and it was the first day I died on Reboot, twice.
On the other hand, I was capable of soloing Hilla and finishing a DIPQ run by myself. I don't know if as a Shad you can do those things easily, but it is annoying to be burning pots for every single hit you take.
I'll give a try until Kinesis is released to see if they fix some of the glitches like familiars and throwing stars drop rate. If everything stills the same after that I'll change to a Shad.

@thatso: As a Shadower, you barely die at bosses/training. BStep iframes it's amazing and now we get 100% stance after casting the first assassinate for 30 sec which is extremely helpful for training. The only downside is that the mobbing isn't as good as a NL.
I suggest you to get to lvl 150 first as a NL if you're going to change because once you get Shad's lvl 150 hyper skill its when things gets serious.

Go Shadower. I was a NL back on Broa and I was lvl 190 and I still get 2-3 hit.

@chaosh (I'm an NL) NL has Shadow Shifter too but in DIPQ and stuff I get hit every second and have to pot every time I get hit. Everything 2 or 3hko's.

Shadowers are fairly tanky for a Thief (which I suppose isn't that hard to begin with), Shield Mastery doubles your defenses and increases avoidability, Enveloping Darkness increases your Max HP and resistance to elemental attacks, Meso Guard absorbs over half the damage you take (at the cost of some mesos), Shadow Shifter means you don't actually even get hit half of the time and, finally, Meso Mastery increases your meso drop rate by 20%, which is obviously amazing in a server where you can buy everything with mesos and monsters drop massive amounts of them. If you need survivability, Shadower is the best option (investing in Character Cards is also wise, but that takes time)

In terms of mobbing, Night Lords beat Shadowers (homing stars combined with Showdown's large hitbox, Night Lords have a huge advantage here), but Shadowers beat Night Lords in damage and bossing (although, in Night Lords defense, Showdown makes bosses more profitable thanks to the extra drop rate, so they kill bosses slower, get more from the bosses they kill), besides, you can't really boss if you end up dying everytime a boss nukes you as a Night Lord.
