Well, the Japanese MapleStory development team comprises entirely of Korean developers. They studied Japanese history, read manga, watch anime, watched Japanese movies, etc. in order to draw inspiration for this content. So, it's not too surprising if they have something like this. It is surprising, however, that the Nexon Japan employees, when they brought it over to be translated and tested before implementation, didn't get any of it changed.
But this is Nexon we're talking about. They've never really been spot on with anything. lol
