This shield good enough?
I saw a shield that has 27 attk and 16% str that I am tempted to buy for my pally. BUT I am wondering if those stats would be good enough to replace a two hand sword for a one handed sword assuming they have similar stats. Any thoughts?

@Tonydatiger That's cause pallies are supposed to have shields lol. And the difference between 1H and 2H is very little and has nothing really to do with ATT as the speed almost entirely makes up for the lack of multiplier. I personally encourage going 1H because finding Rosarios with good cubing is a pain in the ass. Honestly I've never seen one in the FM before so finding a good shield is way easier, and you can scroll it for ATT which you can't do with Rosarios.

Last time I checked, a 1h sword's multiplier is 1.2x multiplier and a 2h sword's is 1.32x. If your end-game sword in mind has an attack of 230 or higher, you'd want to go 2h and forget about the shield. If you're aiming for anything less than 230 atk on your endgame weapon, buy the shield. Keep in mind that after RED, secondaries will trigger your shield mastery as a pally.

The Att is good on it, VERY good. The potential of course is good too but now that they have weapon potentials you can recube it for waaaaaaaay better. That shield can be one of the best out there if you can manage to get a good %Boss/%Att Potential. Don't go for PDR since paladins have ridiculously high PDR with Threaten anyways so they won't be needing that.
As for your question, yes I would buy it IF it isn't a Maple Shield because they aren't 3rd teir. I mean you can buy it even if it is a Maple Shield but don't bother going for better potentials simply BECAUSE it's 2nd tier and just a simple 3rd tier can equal it's damage. 2H is on par with 1H now so either way you'll have to find a good secondary. if you can find a good shield, then go with 1H. If you can find a good Rosario then go 2H.
Since shields are treated the same way as secondary weapons now, that shield doesn't really have good potentials since they can receive %boss damage, %DEF ignore, %ATK and %Total damage lines now.
I don't recommend getting that shield unless you're willing to spend NX to get better potential lines.
