What do you like about your art What dont you like

Since there's already a thread about what aspects of our art we want to improve on, I thought it would be nice to just let ourselves analyze and profile our strengths and weaknesses. I think it helps a great deal when you just sit there and absorb your own work for a bit, you really learn a lot about yourself. Also list what your strengths/weaknesses are based off what others say about your work !

My strengths:
Plants/flowers
design motifs and pattern drawing
fluid motion
work speed
composition
setting ambience
constantly experimenting
ball point pen

what others say:
colour
style [distinctive?x_x]
creative...

Weaknesses:
-colour
-perspective
-Realism
-lack clean/polished appearance
-too picky about colour
-because I'm most at home drawing surreal pieces, my pieces get obscure and get saturated with personal symbolism the audience would not understand. I feel like I sometimes ostracize the audience by drawing things they don't comprehend
-cityscape
-nonorganic subjects
-unwillingness to draw subjects older than a teenager lollll
-aversion to drawing curvy or muscular body types
-rejection of realistic proportions because they're boring to me
-can't turn my style 'off'
-can't imitate for my life
-strong strong aversion to depicting full on violence
-lack of variety in facial proportions -> I constantly revert to child facial proportions >__>
-the people i draw..look like me LMAO

What other people say
-facial proportions are weird. [some people like it some people don't haha that's what I've noticed]

So yeah..list away and discuss!

I don't like to list strengths and weaknesses because thats what makes my art my art.
Don't really have a strength but i'm good at creating a fuzzy warming feeling. All my art works are like that, establishing my style?
It bothers me if i cannot get things right ._.

@twinklefish: ya i won't do things like panty shots and stripper faces. some guys just have too much fun with that...i especially hate the 'lump'

and i disagree with what people say about your facial proportions. you didn't hear that from basilers, did you? your style is pretty distinct and different.

@Hanate: Your style never really registered to me as purely anime...tbh I wouldn't label it as anime at all haha it seems more western-influenced. Maybe it's because I remember more of your WIPs/gestural practice drawings than your finished pieces?

Btw, turn on your ask box for you tumblr, foo! I replied to your message on my tumblr because you had no ask box but then I checked and you aren't following me so you wouldn't be able to see my reply anyway LOL

@MissMaylie
Haha long legs totally work as long as the arms are proportionate to the leg length
and I actually think the pose and body language of the woman determines the 'slutty vibes' rather than their state of undress. That being said, 'slutty' female figure drawing is extremely profitable lol.

@Krill
Don't worry! I know a lot of colourblind artists! In fact, I'm colour deficient haha which is really mild colour blindness, so I can't differentiate between subtle colour differences

and wow we have opposite reactions to perspective drawing. I favor more extreme perspective because It's so extreme so I feel like you can get away with incorrect usage of vanishing points..etc. hhahaha

Strengths:
Stylized,
Coherent (I don't need to explain what's going on, but it isn't necessarily simple either)
Consistent
Shading comes easily to me

Weaknesses:
I'm colorblind. 'nuff said.
Inability to draw feminine things (been trying to work on this)
Very bold perspectives (nearby vanishing points, multiple vanishing points)
Some profile views
Drawing some types of people from behind
Architecture
Extensive realism

My strengths:
womenz
pretty good at imitating

what others say:
'sexyy'
'long legs lol'

Weaknesses:
-coloring neatly l:/
-perspective
-Realism
-lack clean/polished appearance
-unwillingness to draw things other than women
-ankles and wrists tend to get too small cause i have a bit of that caricature disney style
-lack of variety in facial proportions -> I constantly revert to generic proportions and facial expression
-the women i draw look slutty LOL. but then when i realize it i get uncertain and force myself to tone it down and make them look...flat and generic

What other people say
-legs are too long. [but thats my trademark...]
