Back to maplestory after 1 year
Hello, so I've been unactive of MS like a year and i'm thinking about to back play, because some friends are playing and they asked me to play again so that's why i'm coming back, what what do I have missed in the past year?
Is Maplestory better or worst?

I played for a day, got extremely confused, quit again.
There's just been way too many changes that even a player who only quit for a year got confused. Imagine new players.... Nexon really need to get their **** together because at this rate the game's going to die out. I'm sure me and many other players would agree that a simplified game is better than a game that's just too large.
You have the SAO event. I recommend you try to get the Black Swordsman medal before the event is over in 3 days. It should cost you about 5000 or 6200 NX for about 24 tries normal mode. If your lucky you'll get all 3 bosses 5 times before you use up your coins. It should take you less than 2 hours. 3-5 mins per normal run once you get use to it. The stats are worth it in my opinion.
You also have the Copper, Silver, Gold, and Dark totems: see patch notes for stats. Dark totems of your main or secondary stat should be better than your sengoku totems if you have any. You have until the 31st for these repeatable quests each day for 10 random totems from the sculptures using the racks earned from the quest. Don't equip the 1-day cash items until you get all 4 for the last quest to pop up.
As for Freud's Journal event, it's too late to make your +50 main stat, + 10 PAD/MAD ring, +10% effect of your choice.
The events are improving and you have slightly more boss options. Making mesos seem to be easier if you buy surprise boxes compared to last year. I would say it got better. However, the lag these days is too much.

i would say its less nx-dependant. some content like gollux, commerci, elite bosses and recent events gonna give you some good stuff without using nx at all.
however nexon is still the same, especially garbage customer support and the "deserved permabans lifted case"
in fact we're coming back to MS again, the idea was rolling in their heads and they invited me, we are 4 so. i'm pretty sure they are the same lost as i am.
