Fusion Anvil and Weapon Speeds

Ok so I've tried searching for this but can't seem to find an answer...

I understand you can only anvil the same types of weapons and it only changes the APPEARANCE. However, if what you are anvil'ing your weapon to look like has a slower speed... won't that in theory change the speed of your actual weapon? What concerns me specifically here is the animation speed of the weapon. Is that animation going to slow down your attack speed? Or is the animation just not going to match up with your actual attack speed? Or, does MS actually compensate for it and make the animation faster to match your actual weapon's speed? (yeah right)

The weapon speed is in the stats of the weapon itself. There's no set animation speed for weapons. You're purely changing the look while keeping the speed of the original weapon.

Although that would be a different story with two different kinds of weapons(like a spear and a sword), but iirc you can't make that kind of change anyway.

You can swing any weapon at in speed, in theory. So no, anviling a fast weapon to have the appearance of the slow weapon will not change the speed at which you attack.

I highly doubt it. It's still the same weapon and the text still shows the same weapon speed. Plus, it's not like thre's any cover that would be majorly affected we a weapon speed difference.
