How to disable loopback adapter

I've been trying to run MS for the past few hours and it doesn't seem to want to work. I keep getting the "unable to connect to login server" thing. I posted a thread yesterday night and got a response saying I need to disable my loopback adapter. I remember on my old computer I was able to find it relatively easily and disable it, but now that I have a fairly new computer, I can't find it. Currently I'm running on windows 8.1. If anyone could instruct me on how to disable it, or even just to find it, that would be great.

Thanks!

I'm actually having the same issue, when I go to where it usually is under network adapters I don't see the loop back adapter there
