@markred626: oh look, someone who doesn't know what they are talking about , trying to correct others. Click on the transfer hammer icon, put in a poorly scrolled but 15 or whatever starred lvl 140 item and then put in a lvl 150 item into the other slot. What you will see in the preview window is that the potentials from the lvl 140 item (up to epic) will go to the lvl 150 item, the stars get transferred over minus one star and the scrolling from the lvl 150 equip is retained. Don't believe me ? You can check the preview using gollux rings.

The Sweetwater transpose retains potential teir and gives the Sweetwater item the scrolling stats of the previous item. Sweetwater transposing is the more "powerful" of the two transposes since you can take a previously made weapon I.e primed lvl 150 and just transfer those stats over to the Sweetwater item, though the downside of this is you can't ever trade the item more than once ever again. (you can do scissor trick but once it goes to another person its stuck).

@markred626: that's not how transfer hammer works, it transfers the potential and stars to the higher level item, which any slots not used will be consumed by 100% scrolls of your choice if non reboot.
