Everytime i play a game, after a while, my computer would shut down. Can anyone help?

Laptop or desktop..?
How old is it..?
When it shuts down can you restart it right away or does it take a while before you can start it up again..?
Does it show anything when it shuts down..? Error messages or weirdness on the screen..?
And yes, the most likely cause would be overheating, especially if it's at all older.
It's overheating.
