Fafnir Wand vs. Elemental Staff
Just wondering whats better, because i recently got a fafnir wand (Epic 3 lines, 3% int, 3% int, 6% Magic attack)
What would be better: selling this and buying a good ele(for the 10% lightning) and other stuff or using this.. btw i already have RA mage top/hat and am looking for the pants.

well besides casting speed being deflauted as a mage most major bosses have elemental resistance, so most of the bosses we'd be using no element i assume the bonus doesnt apply once you use elemental reset. On top of that the set trumps the one staff and if you ever want to play bam they will be able to cap weap speed with the buffs come FLY update.

Since you already have some pieces of the RA I would stick with your Fafnir staff.
I use an ele staff since I don't feel like upgrading to RA equips/my staff is scrolled, cubed, enhanced etc.
Mages use casting speed, so they default at normal (6) regardless of what's displayed on the weapon's Attack Speed. The only Mage that's excluded from this is BaM, and you could include F/P's Explosion in 3rd job, but that's of little importance towards a F/P.

Holy crap your Engrish.
1. weapon speed does not affect Mages at all except BaM (and F/P's Explosion)
2. Fafnir has 10% IGNORE and 30% Boss even before set effects
3. Fafnir has higher base Matk and more slots
4. comparatively, 10% is too small to matter compared to 2.
5. higher tier isn't worth the difference either.
The only advantage elemental staves have over fafnir wand/stave is the 10% damage boost which is negligable and the higher potential tier.
Fafnir staves have more int/matt, base boss/pdr, and a gigantic set effect.

The 10%/5% elemental damage is negligible. You already have a few of the matching set items, I'd suggest keeping your staff.
@traderweak stupid people are stupid and can't read? it's an ele STAFF, therefore 18x Matt and fast speed, which is why he is perplexed, for it's almost as good. learn to read.
im not talking about the level 130 one.. im talking about the 163 staff. the reason why i'm questioning it is because Elemental staff are fast attack speed and give 10% lightning/10% ice(depends on which one it is)...
