Am I doing something wrong?

Hi,
I created an I/L mage on reboot and reached level 144 on it for now. With a friend of mine playing a 141 DrK, we decided to go to Dimension Invasion and he made a remark about my damages.
In fact, I had a superior equipment (full level 130 whereas he had some lower level stuff), weapon upgraded to 10, and even with that I could barely do 70k/line of lightning bolt where my friend would hit for 200k per line...
Am I doing something wrong or is I/L that weak at that level (or without fund)?
All my skills are maxed (level 30).

DrKs grow faster than most jobs at these levels due to cross surge. It'll even out later. Also, it's not about the numbers on just mobs, you'll eventually see your damage raise to a degree that's comparable. Every job has their pros and cons.
It's not your I/L that is weak, you're among one of the strongest classes... it's Dark Knights that VERY strong too. Cross Surge basically doubles his range as long as he fully healed and Gungnir’s Descent hits like a truck was attached to his spear, and as long as Sacrifice is active (30s + buff duration), he can spam it non-stop.
Keep in mind however, while he does a lot of damage in fewer lines, I/L have Chain Lighting, Frozen Orb, Elquines, Infinity, Blizzard's final attack effect on cooldown, it's now simply how hard you hit, but how often you do, as well. Both DrK and I/L are great unfunded and in Reboot.
