I don't get why people don't play WoW or are people too cheap to pay to play for better security and customer service and such since a lot of you seem to be complaining about Nexon.I remember there used to be a lot of hacking during the Wizet era but it was just the vac hacking and stuff till hackers took it to another level.Just saying this is a FREE game to play and if you really do want most of the hacking and bugs gone with customer service you'd have to put in "Pay to play" since it really worked well for Blizzard

Yea Nexon wont do anything, the only things we can all hope for is eaither Nexon actually putting a hammer down to all hackers and stopping the madness or wait for Nexon to get replaced by maybe a more secure company that actually knows how to handle bugs, glitches, and most of all hackers.

People are more likely to get pissed off and quit, instead of buying everything. In total, they probably lose more money from customers buying than they make from victims buying nx.

Agreed most people won't admit it but they actually did have a weak password probably 8 letters/numbers long sadly.If they had a password say 30+ letters/numbers then they'd be more secured since it would take a long time to crack something as long.

If there was actually a security breech on their end where passwords were revealed, then they'll likely do something subtle and not directly announced as a fix for that- like when they changed from PIN to PIC.

If it's simply the usual problem of people having weak passwords and breaking Nexon's suggestions (visiting non-Nexon MS related sites like Basil, sharing personal info, etc...) then they likely won't do much. There's only so much you can do to protect someone from their own foolish actions.

Sadly there's only been 2 even remotely 'confirmed' cases where any of the hackings were Nexon's fault.

1) That rumored SQL Injection attack that actually disclosed people's IDs and password. I only consider this 'confirmed' because Nexon took action very shortly after the rumors started by implementing the PIC system.
2) MTS leaked IDs, but those are useless with a strong password.

Other than that, there's simply rumor and speculation, but the overwhelming majority of any hacking cases have simply been due to user error. And when people don't practice safe security techniques, there's little Nexon can do to protect someone from their own foolish actions.

That said, there does seem to be some things Nexon can do to minimize losses when their players do get keylogged. The sad fact is that MS players are apparently easily taken advantage of, so Nexon can recognize the reality and not assume that every player is a professional IT expert constantly looking over their shoulders.

Things like providing hardware-level access to accounts via a physical device like a SecureID or USB device could help combat the simple fishers and account thieves. Forcing a text-message verification from a registered cell phone number to delete a character could help. Stuff like that...

I've still yet seen any even remotely credible evidence that there's some Nexon leak of passwords and PICs. It's still overwhelmingly likely that the vast majority of hackings continue to be the result of a victim's mistake. However, that doesn't mean Nexon couldn't implement some mechanisms that make our own mistakes a bit less costly. No one is perfect all the time, so it would be nice if things were a bit less unforgiving.
