So you are right about taking money that's not yours. Honestly, basilers wisen up. The man did the right thing. He was being honest the whole time. Stop being selfish jerks some of you...

This reminds me of when i was about six, i found 20$ on the ground from the lady in front of me. That was a huge amount to me, but i knew the right thing to do was to give it back. So i did, it was sort of lame that she didn't even say thank you, rather than "Oh." and grab it and walk away.

It would be best to return it
$10,000 is a crap ton of money, and for a lot of people it's nearly all of their savings.

@Demonlord: Ok now I know you're just being sarcastic but I'm going to say this still; since when did being greedy become a trait of someone strong?
morals are for the weak.
Wrong. The weak are the ones who would take the 10k.

"he found two unmarked Caesar's Palace envelopes at the airport and realized there was money inside when he arrived home"

Why would he take two lost envelopes with him without checking the contents?

free 10k that person's dumb
No, that man is actually a good person. Nothing dumb about it. It wasn't his 10k, it belonged to someone who worked for it.

When I was a freshman in High School I found a wallet with $100 in it and no ID. I gave it to my teacher who I remember asking the class a few times if anyone had lost it. But I never found out if it got returned to the original owner. I've wondered since then if the teacher ended up just keeping it. And if they did, maybe I should've just kept it. I guess $100 isn't a ton and not as much as $10,000 but it was a lot to me back then.
And @NotKelly everyone makes mistakes, if you made a $10,000 mistake wouldn't you want it to be returned to you too?
Let's make this hypothetical. Lets say some gang or the police planted this money. If they find you with it you will be skinned alive
or put on blast about how you tried to take off with the money. He did the right thing.
As weird as it sounds, I feel something similar to this too. I always feel like if I found a big sack of money, it's set up and probably has a tracking device.
Plus, if I lost 10k, which would be really stupid of me but hey everyone makes mistakes, I would hope something is nice enough to return it.

I dunno what kinda crap everyone was taught but; I was taught to do the right thing unless people try to take advantage of it then I'll show just what bad I could do. "Give good before you give bad" Some of the time you can smell peoples bad intentions though; that takes a different precaution.
