Cwk is ruined

So I was kind of excited for this patch since NLC and CWK are my favorites areas, but after 'exploring' cwk for the first time since it came out, I am severely disappointed. It took like 30 seconds to get all the to the hall of mastery, with no challenge at all to stop you from getting there. This patch has taken all of the fun out of cwk in my opinion. What do you think?

@SasukeIIV: But I'm pretty sure no one was complaining about nlc and phantom forest.

@darkorbit6: Same here!

I agree with you 100%. I loved how the Phantom Forest was a maze and to get onto the mountain where the Crimsonwood keep rests was alot of fun. It was challenging and great area to help a fellow friend our or even a stranger in which case making new friends. Was always fun forgetting which doors to take through the forest, hunting Big Foot and Headless Horseman.

I did want an expanstion <spelling, of NLC and for that i'm happy but they should have LEFT THE PHANTOM FOREST ALONE!

I think they're gonna change it back to the way it was before but slowly ofc.

hmm in my opinion maybe GMS should make like another quest chain to like having a reward of access to an NPC for going from old NLC to the destroyed one

@jaco1631: Of course. I love cwkpq. Why do you think I am so dissapointed with this update? It's horrible. The entire story behind it is gone now. This would also mean that any future content will not continue the unfinished story it had. Did you not read my first post on the first page to see my stance on this?

I liked the JQ after awhile > : D
It wasn't very convinient when I was in a rush to get there to :C
So I did the quests that allow you to skip the JQ, by using the teleporting statues. Right before the patch QQ.

Oh and btw, does this mean that the Warrior throne is now unobtainable?
I got it, but it'd be cool if it was a rare chair now > : D

@doodorz: Not for legendary potential stats which is why everyone wants a glaive now since it's 100+.
@Ravens: PSB > glaive, sorry and I don't understand your point about the 40% boss or whatever. PBS's can get the same exact potential stats and a glaive can. The only reason I can see people using a glaive over a psb is if they have decent SI.
Glaives have a better legendary potential because they're level 100 while psbs are level 80 I think.

I don't see how it's possible to max traits with NX cash (besides charm).
And even then, charm is only from NX equips, not cubes or anything like that.

I see some people in this thread crying over this NLC revamp when they told Thieves and Pirates to get over their revamp. lol

The option to forge weapons didn't go anywhere. You can still CWKPQ. Bigger Ben is gone for a while, but no one is going to die without their GFA quest. Only real loss is probably the story and questline, but if you've done it once you haven't lost anything. If you haven't done it before you probably didn't care enough about it anyways. If you were half way done with the quests, sorry but tough luck.

As a side note, BF, HH, Crimson Wood and Typhon Feathers are still there but you needed to have saved the map before hand. If you didn't save the map on a telerock, then look for someone who did. It's a hassle but oh well. Chances are Nexon will be re-adding a way to get back to those sooner or later.

@Above We lost the PQ for a while, not CWK.

Wait no more furies?
Whitch means Furies will increase in price. And with new theif revamp around the corner Furies will rise even more.
Whitch means ~time to buy furies and wait for price to inflate~

Well, the thing is, NLC has been left unchanged for a couple of years now, many of us were asking for an expansion. Now, they DID give us the expansion, but they actually took away a lot more than what they added. Many important things were removed, such as the access to CwkPQ, the equipment forging, many unique maps, even removing the Big Ben tower until further notice.

You can say that it was a map shrink instead of an expansion. I came back to check out the exclusive Masteria expansion, but I wasn't too happy with it. But what's done is done. Complaining won't get me anywhere.

doubled edged sword with this patch. Ellin forest got a big update and I'm very happy about that, as it was one of my favorite places and now it actually has a purpose other than just being random maps that nobody ever goes to. On the other hand they absolutely murdered crimson wood keep. It's like 5 maps and you get to the keep. 5 maps that you walk horizontally to...instead of it being at the top of a mountain like it's supposed to be, it was a lot more epic to have to go through all that climbing and the pillar of death jq and stuff, but now it's just "hohoho herp de derp I'm gonna walk straight there unimpeded" not to mention all the things that got removed along side taking out those maps. Hopefully they change it back after this event ends.
All people like you do is complain complain complain. You need to at least appreciate that nexon gave NLC a darn update in the first place. The alien questline is really good, the BGM in NLC is just plain amazing, and getting to cwk is a LOT easier for new players that wish to cwkpq. So if all you can do when nexon doesn't do what YOU want is complain, maybe you should just quit and find another game.

yeah new players can totally lead cwk w/o the keystone
and ohhh yeah the questline its soooo gooood and challenging that i only took like 7min

I didn't think anything could be easier than waiting for the bish to door or teleing to someone that's already there. Because honestly, that is still easier and that's what people have done before instead of exploring/JQ.
I guess people just keep taking things for granted.

The point is that they also removed all the CWK quests and storyline. And it's hardly any fun without any challenge.
It's basically throwing it into the toilet, taking a dump on it, and flushing it down the toilet.

Atleast I still have a keystone on my bishop. ;-; Although it's going to make it that much harder to find people to lead CWKPQ on other characters.

Are you people sure that you can not in any way shape or form get your hands on a keystone now? Do you still NEED one to lead an expedition? That's stupid! Nexon Y U so DUMB?

Reply March 20, 2012 - edited

@doodorz: That's not the point... They removed perfectly good content for no reason and furthermore it's impossible for people to get the keystones neccessary to lead cwkpq which means only people who already have them can lead.

Also crimson arcglaives are not useless, they outclass purple surfboards they may not be the best polearm in the game, but it's a good weapon.
@Brenny: I completely agree. It's rediculous how easy this game has become. It seems like ever since the Big Bang update, Nexon has been removing every challenging aspect of the game.
That's because there's constantly people bishing about everything.
If its not about how easy something is, its about how hard/unfair something is.

It only takes 30seconds to get up there anyway if you did the quests.

You don't even need to climb the ascents with all those Typhons.

Lets see not even regarding the new awful maps, we can no longer make crimson weapons or balanced furies.
We can no longer do the quests which included the keystone for cwkpq as well as quests to use the the services of the npcs in phantom forest.

It's ruined.

This entire game is dumbed down from what it use to be. I bet most people here wouldn't even be able to finish the original LPQ even with the levels they are at now.

When dojo gets tough everyone complains. When nexon makes things easier you guys still complain. Kids these days are too spoiled. Let's try limiting the complaining to something that's worthwhile like the duping and ppl losing their acc issues.

They took out the quest needed to CWKPQ, GFA quest, and etc.
They removed typhons which were essential to make Balanced Furies.

Er, they kind of killed some part of the NLC-CWK area.
I agree 100% with TS.

I really, really hate the new NLC for removing an intriguing and challenging portion of the game's story away.

And no, before anyone says "but you can still do all the quests", you cannot. The quests require you to get items which are no longer obtainable.

Seriously, I doubt many people even know that the whole reason the path to CWK was so treacherous was because it was part of the story. If you'd done the quests (and actually read the text), it'd be obvious. Now that the whole thing is botched up, the story makes no sense. "Those who made it to Crimsonwood Keep deserved to be trained there"? Okay, so pretty much everyone that can walk. Yeah.
Right? I totally agree.
