How does Quiver Cartridge work?

Coming back after the explorer revamp and I want to try out my bowmaster. Could someone explain to me how quiver cartridge works, primarily in what the quiver size of 10 means and how they recharge? Since I'm kinda broke and prefer to not have to continually heal, the drain arrow interests me. I just don't know how often I can keep it active. Thank you!
Well when you're pre-4th job you can't lock in your arrow type so they constantly cycle. You get magic arrows(another type of Final Attack, your DPS boost), blood arrows (drain HP), Poison arrows (damage over time but most useless imo). Keep in mind that when you use drain arrows if you ever one hit kill the mob you don't get any HP from it. You never actually run out of any arrow type.

After you finally get to 4th job you'll get Enchanted Quiver which allows you to lock in an arrow type for 30 seconds. Personally when I train I just let them do what ever and didn't bother with locking in arrows.
Not locking arrows in training is the most efficient way to mob mathematically. The only exception is if there is a mob that takes multiple seconds (3+) to kill in which Poison Arrows are better.

@crappyme: Just your attacks, obviously its faster cycling if you're using hurricane or arrow blaster. The order is Blood, Poison, Magic.

That cycle would be:
20 Drain Arrow - red
20 Poison Arrow - purple
40 Homing Missile Arrow - yellow
But you can switch it by yourself or lock in which ever you want.
Getting %buff duration inner abilities really helps you have more time on locking arrows.
@crappyme: Yes, it just cuts into your performance. Having to stop your damage almost entirely to re-cast quiver.
Oh, gotcha. So normally what causes them to cycle between the 3 and at what rate?
Oh I see it. And given the 30s cooldown on the 30s duration, it is effectively possible to have the arrow of your choice up the entire time?
There's a slight delay (probably due to server lag) but if you have a Mechanic Character Card, you should be at 31 - 33 seconds before the buff expires.
