I honestly think Phantom has the best story. I mean, his return when he meets Hilla and stuff was awesome. Plus he had a thing for Aria and and he's just a master thief that's known throughout the entire world

I find Phantom's storyline to be interesting and pretty sad even if it is pretty cliche.
I really liked the luminous story of darkness from the black mage consuming him
Plenty of interesting stories on this game, but a lot of them lack closure and don't really feel complete. Haven't tried shade though.

I agree the Grand Athenaeum has an unreal story. The first book is the the best imo. The rewards are not that bad either.
In terms of chars I think the shade story is the best Ive played yet. Its nice to be forced to do the story line.
Personally, I found Shade's storyline really interesting.
Forgotten Hero trying to get people to remember him, but they can't.
Zero's is very in depth considering it lasts from 100-180, plus it's very interesting. I also enjoyed the Xenon and Phantom storylines.
I haven't played Shade but I heard his was the absolute best.

Maybe Lumi, Kaiser, or Xenon. I found they're storylines interesting. But I liked Shade's storyline the most imo.
