Does Town Lag still exist?
I originally quit Maple last year due to the unbearable lag I got in towns thanks to Cassandra and Gaga (Though I'm lagless on massive boss runs and whatnot) and was wondering if it was still around :o I'm really excited about the new updates, but the game itself would be unplayable since I'm forever stuck in Hene :c

n...no...maple story is just a memory hog...and certain things in the game may lag connection or send too many packs out...the game DOES send data out via security protocol...but nothing personal is gathered from your computer...that is a bit paranoid to think lol.
The game is simple but there is a very large amount of content in the game. It can be harsh on a system especially if it is not exactly modern. Maple has always hogged a great deal of memory. One way you can reduce the lag is by changing the priority of black cipher and ms under processes to high priority if it can handle that...but never realtime. I am not sure if it will help with town lag....but it might help some people. If maple is eating up a significantly large amount of memory running idle, I would consider a memory leak could be contributing to the lag issue (if you are stuck in a town and it is THAT bad when your pc is not that outdated.) Or a memory issue...Run a mem test to rule out possibilities if you know how to...
Hopefully the patch does fix this. As of right now, I've had town lag for over a year and it never stopped.

It's still pretty bad, but yay to what @bluebomber24 said. That's welcome news. On my desktop I'm limited to Aqua Road whenever I need something in town and any other town I have to quickly get as far away from Cassandra and Gaga as possible for the lag to go away a little (although sometimes it doesn't go away until I completely leave the map </3 ). Whenever I highjack my gf's laptop though I can walk through towns no problems, so I know it's just because my computer is old and junky lol.
Used to have town lag here, but I killed my antivirus completely and installed avast and no more town lag.

finally my mules will no longer be jailed in the towns that I left them in. They're stuck..
I've had some pretty bad town lag for a while outside of Sleepywood/Aquarium. Hopefully the patch going on right now is helping with that.

Yes, I heard for some it does. I heard that if you change your battery to high on your laptop, it will be better/or fixed.
The culprits of the lag are supposedly getting dumped into a seperate map in this update.
