EDIT2: This was a response to a ticket I sent in about my character who got hacked 2 years ago. I don't need this package because I have a few bil and equips worth billions. But this is still a great move on Nexon's part.

A GM has added a comment to this ticket. Please see below for more details.

You are receiving this message because you are among players who have had their MapleStory account compromised. To provide relief for your loss, we have generated generous compensation packages that best suit your character's needs. These packages contain game items, equip items, various scrolls, and mesos. We want to provide this relief to help you restart your Maple journey. This is the first time we are extending this offer, but we hope to make it a permanent part of the MapleStory support policy to provide faster response to players who have had their accounts compromised.

Next Steps:

The compensation package that you will receive will depend on the character that receives it. Each package is catered to the job, class, and level of your character. You will only receive ONE package, so carefully consider which character you would like to receive the compensation package.

We will be rolling out the distribution of these packages in the next few weeks. When the packages are ready, the following will happen when you login into MapleStory:

- A message prompt will ask you if you would like to receive the compensation package on the character that is currently logged in. If you do not wish to receive it on that character, simply logon to the desired character.
- After you have logged onto the desired character, press "Accept" on the message to receive the package.

Thats cool, my guild leader got one. I wonder what could be inside. I'm guessing untradeble 60%'s, some untradeable potions, and level 90 equips according to your
class.

Oh wow I just checked and apprently I got the comment on my ticket too
in all honesty this kind of disappoints me because nexon has put all of us under one umbrella - our compensation will never be what we lost. I probably won't see anything of what I lost when I was hacked. I doubt that I will get back the items I lost, which are worth a lot more now than they were back then. This is kind of nexon's excuse, "we've given you stuff, so you can't complain anymore." just like when they removed perma cs items but replaced it with only new items having a perma option.
Translation: we're so overwhelmed by the hacked tickets and we don't know what to do so we're going to give you a crappy compensation but you can't do anything about it anymore.
Whatever. I was hoping I'd get my items back, no matter how small the chance, but that probably won't happen. -_-

and how did I get hacked?
In all honesty, I'm not entirely sure because I have NEVER given out my info, but it was probably a keylogger. On top of that (and this is my fault) my email had the same ID and password (not making that mistake again) so the hacker just sent a pic reset and then procceeded to take my stuff. Luckily it wasn't a mean hacker; all my untradeables were left.

The only thing I actually wanted when I first requested was my NX back. I didn't care about the Mesos or anything. I even said such in my first correspondence with them.

This is all I lost:

60+ mil mesos
Olivia Chair
nicely scrolled PuAC
16K NX

Considering I have a Maple Cape that is nicely scrolled now, the PuAC is not a big deal. I have replaced more than enough mesos. I just can't get back the 16K NX nor the Olivia chair.

My account was hacked, I NEVER gave out my info (I mean, who would I give it too? None of my RL friends play Maple anymore after the first round of hacks). The hacker even was able to request a PIC WITHOUT breaking into my email address and got it changed (I still have the PIC request email I received -- it was UNREAD and no record of anyone going into my email acct between when I went in myself).

I don't go on hacking sites or meso selling sites. Why bother? Get banned? No, TYVM. Get a virus or something? No, TYVM. I have sensitive information on this computer.

DO NOT JUDGE. YOU DO NOT KNOW THE SITUATION. MILLIONS OF PEOPLE DID NOT GET HACKED AT THE SAME TIME BECAUSE OF A STUPID KEYLOGGER OR ANYTHING. THERE WAS A KNOWN DB LEAK. NEXON ADMITTED IT.

i will leave the "wow nexon is so amazing" to be said until its seen if its actually a generous package...giving people who lost potentially billions in equips and cash only some clean equips wouldnt be that amazing, now would it?

I just checked my ticket about being hacked and I got the same thing.
It's probably going to be a very small package though, like a couple mil, maybe some pots, and some clean equips. :S

I was hacked 2 years ago too, with that massive database leak around feb... but I never even bothered to send in a ticket because I never thought I'd get a response

They cant just give you all the equips, mesos, etc. That'd be stupid.

Not their fault you got hacked, be happy their actually doing something about it. 1st game that I've ever seen do this.

Stop complaining and take it as it is.

It may not be much but just know that its better than nothing and they probably shouldnt be giving anyone anything, considering it wasn't their fault (Like i said before).

i'm looking forward to my carefully selected package that will probably include the following:
- one shiney new reverse alchupiz
- 9x spear for attack 60% scroll
- clean level 100 armors
- several 100% potential scrolls
- few EE scrolls
- 10 to 20mill messos
- power elixers!

lol so it's pretty much the people that cried so much they sent a ticket because they got hacked.
I got hacked, but didn't send a ticket in, i got over it and started again. Kind of annoying
knowing that I could have gotten some compensation, doesn't bother me that much though.

I doubt the compensation will be adequate for those who spent a fortune. I feel they should just give back all the nexon the hacked players invested into their accounts. I mean, once you get hacked, you feel robbed of every penny you put in.

Hehe, 2 years ago and only now you get a message like this?

Woohoo, it's nice that Nexon's finally doing something to help those who got hacked, but chances are this package will include useless junk you could have gotten off other players by just begging. For example, it may probably be items that your calss uses, maybe some scrolls, or a half scrolled item, maybe some mesos, and one or two cheap cash shop items.

I sent them a ticket about my Gunslinger that vanished/got hacked (I still don't know what happened to it) some time ago when GMS had a roll back. (This was before Big bang) I spent well over 70K NX on that character only to have it vanish/deleted. Odd part is, there was another character on the same account in the same world, with NX, valuable items and everything... but that one was left un-touched.

500k meso, 7 100% (+1 att) scrolls for 1h / 2h weapons (sorry mages, but you'll get screwed over), and a level 100 item of your choice.

Just my guess, it seems to make sense based on *everything* Nexon has done in the past.

You either gave your ID to someone a while ago and forgot about it, shared your acc and that friend stole from you, or got key-logged.

I've never given any info away, nor shared my account. A friend couldn't have stolen it because I've never shared.
I don't see how I could have been keylogged, and there are no viruses on my computer.
I was also not on the MTS list.

I remember once when I got hacked somehow without telling anyone my info. It was even a new account...

I was in free market, and when in a trade, I missed a digit when entering the mesos we agreed on, so he cancels. Then he trades me back so I enter the proper amount and apologize. He then starts cussing me out. Instead of searching in the Free Market again, I just decided to ask a friend to help me transfer. When logging back in, I notice my password is changed... wdf. .

So yeah.

People keep complaining, but do you want Nexon to answer your questions or not? Rather have them not reply, or at least give you something to help you get back on your feet? I'm not defending them, but maybe you're just being a little too mean. At times I hate Nexon too, but they're probably trying their best to satisfy people.

To be honest, 99% of the people who claims to get hacked are just people who once or twice gave out their info to people and end up getting back-stabbed or people who downloaded a key-logger aka downloaded something illegal so too bad for them.

Really a dumb idea, I can see this being abused by people creating fake tickets telling Nexon they've been hacked for the free items.

a) doesn't make up for the fact that ANYONE can have their account hacked and A LOT had their accounts hacked (98% of the people i know) at least announce that you have a better security system and not a system where people can be hacked even with 40 character passwords!

I was hacked over a year ago. I had and still have proof of the hacking.

I too have received the email. Trying to decide what char I want it on though when I get the package. I have LOTS of characters to choose from.
