Anyone good with computers? I need help
So, when we were dating, my ex-boyfriend put this hex on my laptop so that every time it boots up, this window in the command-prompt-like-thing comes up telling me that I am loved.
We broke up two weeks ago and I'm trying to get rid of the reminders. Took the pictures down, put the gifts away, all that stuff. But I can't figure out how to stop this window from appearing. I want to start moving on. Can anyone help me get rid of this?
In case I did a poor job describing it (which I probably did, since I can't seem to find help through google), this is what it looks like when I boot my computer:

And then when I press a key, of course it goes away. But I don't want this thing to come up at all. Plus the copy/paste typo has always bothered me =P
Any help is appreciated! Thanks guys.

Call him and ask him to get rid of it.
Jk, what the previous people said should work.
Aw that's sweet, I assume he put it on there while you guys were dating, and not after the breakup and he's trying to get you back or anything.
Here's what you can do:
1. Click Start>All Programs>Startup. If there's anything related to command prompt (you can click each program to see what comes up), simply delete it.
2. Click Start>Run (Type Run in the search box for Vista/7)>type "msconfig", click the "Startup" tab, and again, look for any cmd.exe (command prompt) entries, uncheck the box, Apply/OK, then reboot.
3. When the Command Prompt window pops up when you start up, type:
For XP: cd c;Documents and Settings (copy this, right click the command prompt window, and paste and change the semicolon between "c" and "Documents" to a colon :
For Vista/7: cd c:Users
For any:
cd your username
cd "start menuprograms"
cd startup
dir
Look for a .bat file. If there is, type "del -the file name-"
Yep, put it up while we were dating. It was quite sweet.
Got rid of it with step #2 I think. Thank you so much!
You need to find your your ex's 7 horcruxes, destroy them, and then you can finally destroy it.
But TS is the 7th Horcrux!
OT: Yeah do what the others told you, go to MS config ->startup (oh and do tell us what program he used, it'd be interesting). Also, call him and tell him to stop wasting your system resources.
Lmfao that's so creepy
sorry i can't help.
We dated for two years and he does computer stuff for a living. Not as creepy as you think when you know the context ^^
Also I called it a hex because I think it is a silly way to describe it. No, I am not Amish. Haha.
In a worst-case scenario, you can use system restore to revert your computer to a previous state, one before he added the program. Save all your essential stuff on a flash drive, system restore, put everything back.
