How old were you when you got your cellphone
I'm turning 18 this year, I still don't have a cell phone lol. I'm getting one this summer for Uni though. I've never felt the need for a cell phone, how do you people feel about cell phones? Can you live without your cell phone?

When I was 12 years old. (7th grade)
First phone at 14 and it was a slide phone . I Didn't really have the demand for phones back then since I would always see my friends at school every day. Now that I'm in uni and the course im doing; having a smart phone saved me many times haha, so need my phone everywhere I go now

i was merely joking about the sexts. all my friends had a phone. kinda pressured to get one myself, yanno. come to think about it, my parents were way too lenient. they spoiled me. people that young shouldn't need a phone; it's unnecessary.

Mobile phones were not really portable or affordable till I was about 16/17 years old. It was a Nokia 5110, it doubled as a self defense weapon.
13, it was a nokia bar phone with a black and white screen. couldn't text and was just for emergencies.
16 i believe. it wasn't a smartphone. i didn't get a smartphone until i got off my mom's plan and got my own (virgin mobile) when i was like... 19?
I got one when I was in grade 9, then gave it back to my parents because I didn't do anything with it.
I feel no reason to get a phone.
I was 14 when I got my first cellphone. I never asked for one it didn't seem important but I was going on a trip halfway across the world and my parents were worried so they got me a Samsung Galaxy Q (kind of old phone) and one of the cheapest plans you can get. I still have the same phone and plan and am quite happy with it except for that my phone dies fast now haha (STILL LASTS LONGER THAN AN iPHONE!)
11. i used it to send sexts.
I think I was 13ish when I got mine?
When I was 12 or so? I hardly ever used my phone though. Even right now it's usually turned off. People just contact me through Facebook or Skype. Seeing as I'm always close to a computer with internet, it works.
I got mine when i was 11. My older sister got a new phone and she gave her old cellphone to me. I barely used it for calling people (Although i was texting alot with a friend of mine, we were the only 2 at school with a cellphone) It was more a gameboy to me, with games like Snake and Sudoku
When I was in 6th grade and the Motorola RAZR was the coolest phone on the market.
So around 10 years ago?
I got mine when I was 13, and honestly once you've had a phone, there's no going back. I use it for everything: checking the time/ class times, studying, killing time, flashlight, alarm, timer, calculator, google, siri, camera, and communicating. (and more!)
Last year I left my charger at a friend's house (who lives very far away) and went almost a week without my phone. It was pretty rough.
i was in 8th grade when i got my first phone (one of those non-contract phones) but i never used it until 9th.
in 11th grade i stop using it because i didn't really need it.
now 3 years later and i recently just got a new one and i don't really use it
I got mine in 6th grade so like 11 or 12? Since then I changed my phone at least fifteen times lol. I'm 19 now
I think I got my first phone when I was around 11-13, not sure.
I need it especially now cause it's one of the main things I use now to stay in contact with my Fiance in America. Before that I needed it for work as our reg phone is nowhere within reach for me and I don't use it.
I think I got my first cellphone either at the end of middle school or the end of my first year of high school.
I'm 22 and still don't own one. Wheee.
Also: still running Windows XP.
I think 6th grade
it was mostly used for calling my dad whenever I got off school to tell him where I was going, pretty much.
I'd be so bored without my cellphone now because it's a smartphone.
got mine when i was 17 and i hardly ever use it
It was maybe 7th grade. It was a kick ass Cingular flip-phone with a mirror on the front to check myself out.
When I started High School
I got my first phone when i was 8.
My parents didnt trust me walking home from school even though they made me and so they felt it was necessary to get me one.
Got one recently for my 15th birthday. I don't use it as much, but I find mines a great weapon to take out to smack someone in the face.
Spent many years without it, got forgotten at other cities when on trips, walked home for miles at night... yes, I can.
Got my first cellphone when I was 16. It cost like $10 a month and I just text people and my parents call me when I'm out. I live on my own so I definitely need a cell phone, but I don't need to always have it with me.
I got mine in middle school. I asked for a cell phone because I wanted to keep in touch with my old friends because I was going to a different school. She wanted me to be able to be contacted so I know who's picking me up from school anyway.
I always found it useful to have a cellphone. Since i do a lot of sports, getting a pickup is harder because no one knows when the games will be over or if practice is longer etc. You can call them at the end of your game/practice to let them know that you're finished especially if you play football. Those games can vary from 9-11 to finish.
@xtripled:
I bring my mom's cellphone on me if I'm going out anywhere that not school lol.
when I was a fetus

how did people reach you when you weren't home?
OT: since high school started, so like when i was 14? although it wasn't my own, my mom just gave me hers cause we didn't want to pay more phone bills
I'm 19 and I don't own a cell, nor do I need to.
How can people reach you when you aren't home?
Well it also depends how old you are now...
I have had mine since 8th grade (13), and it has actually been the same phone (I'm in 11th grade) the whole time.
I could probably live without it, but we would have to have home phones or something because I have to watch my sister a lot, or I'm here by myself or whatever.
Sadly, I never use it for talking with friends or girls or anything.
I was eighteen. Pay to go. 100 dollars a year.
I'm 19 and I don't own a cell, nor do I need to.
