The Excavators: Cannonade and Earthen Custom Classes!

Made this a while ago during an 8 hour car ride to Lake Tahoe for a custom class contest. Made 25k NX! (:
I like to work on it and tweak it when I'm bored, so here's the current version of it!

[header]=Intro=[/header]
Yeah, so some people don't like reading these long-wall-imitating-like-monstrous-piece-of-art-blocks-of-text, and they don't have to, but I suppose some people do. It's pretty well thought up and I tried my best not to overpower them. And since I noticed someone posting their custom class, I thought I'd toss mine back up again.

A little introduction to my custom classes: I purposely designed them to be the not-so-abusive-non-ks'ing type of class. Earthens are too slow for great ks'ing. Cannonades work better while fighting in a stationary area, using strategic methods to be efficient.

[header]=Storyline!=[/header]
One tragic story has come to an end, with the defeat of the Black Mage. However... the Nautilus has come under siege... The skys have been coveted by both olden day creatures and new age machinery from the last remnants of the Black Mage's apprentices. Orbis, in smoky ruins. Ludibrium, dissassembled to a point of no recovery. Leafre, still on fire. Victoria Island, being held steadily, where most of the maplers, both adventurer and Cygnus, have retreated into one of the last havens, Sleepywood. Upon the brink of destruction, the surviving maplers turn to a most unusual character. Those who built sleepywood and their tunnels, those who caverned deep into the dungeons, those who created the sanctuary deep within the tunnels, the Excavators. Since the olden days, before the Black Mage laid waste to the land, and before it's defeat, these excavators had been blasting and mining away at the rocks and caves. Now, as a passage builder for maplers and as warriors, they train to make their stand against the Apocalypse Sages.

So lets get right into it:
. .
. .
. .
. [header]=First Job: Excavator=[/header]
This class uses pickaxes and cannons as their weapons. Pickaxes wielders will become Earthens and Cannon wielders will become Cannonades. Excavators base their attacks on skills and have many buffs for themselves and parties. Cannon wielders base their attack off of normal attacks, which can be enhanced through several skills to enhance battle styles and training methods. Each class has slow attack speed, slow movement speed, medium/low hp (like a sin's hp) and low mp (like a warriors mp). However, as they progress through their classes and occupations, these will be enhanced. The detonators(cannon wielding) normal attacks have a cooldown time however, of 2 seconds.

Excavator: Skills

Granite Defense[Active]: Surround yourself in an impenetrable solid granite armor that will enhance your defenses!
Max Level 10[50hp, 30mp]: Increase defense and magic defenses by 140%. (100 defense into 140 defense for example)

Earth Puncture[Active]: Aggressively bash the pickaxe into the ground then thrust it upward, causing the ground to fling up and hurt nearby monsters.
Max Level 20[26mp]: 200% damage, 6 monsters.
(Skill note: This skill is very slow[long animation time] and in addition with a slow weapon, about 3x as long as a normal slash blast)

Instant-Load[Active]: Allow the character to decrease the cannons cooldown time to 0.4 seconds, allowing quick consecutive shots!
Max Level 20[80%mp]:Cooldown time 120 seconds. Lasts 20 seconds.

Bash[Active]: The excavator uses it's cannon or the blunt head of it's pickaxe to bash a nearby monster, stunning it.
Max Level 20(30mp): 400% damage. Moderate/slow speed. (time of about 2 power strikes)

Submerge[Active]: A party skill! Burrow yourself into the ground to allow a speedy health recovery and protection! The ditch created can allow other members to hop in, fooling the monsters, causing them to wander away.
Max Level 30[30mp]: All monster's targeting player are diverted. Regenerate HP at intervals twice as fast (every 5 seconds). 5 Second Cast time. 120% over max HP can be gained. (if max hp is 1000, you can hold 1200/1000) Cannot surpass 100,000 hp.

.
. .
[header]=Fourth Job: Molten Sage=[/header]
Upon fourth job for the pickaxe class, their axes become enfused with a red and orange glow, and attack styles take a whole new direction. This class is strong against ice, fire, and normal, depending on their skill build. The Lava manipulator may take an Earth attribute build, a lava attribute build, or a fire manipulating build. The earth build is self explanatory and is strong against normal element monsters. A lava attribute build is also self explanatory and is strong against ice monsters. The fire manipulator's build uses the opponents fire element to empower your character and drain the enemy of health. As the fire manipulator drains the fire elements, he charges other attacks, allowing his to release incredibly powerful attacks. The manipulator is strong against fire. All attacks will deal 125% damage (unlike mages 150% damage) to their opposing element.

Molten Sage: Skills

Maple Warrior[Active]: Increase all players' stats within a party by certain percentage.
Max Level 20[40mp]: 600 seconds, all stats + 10%

(Lv1: 310% damage, hits 4 monsters, 20% overheat dealing 4% damage every 4 seconds. Lv10: 400% damage, hits 5 monsters, 40% overheat dealing 6% damage every 3 seconds. Lv20: 500% damage, hits 6 monsters, 60% overheat dealing 7% damage every 2 seconds.)

Heat Drain[Active]: Only can be used on a monster that is under the effect of Overheat. Rapidly absorb the heat for a minor hp and mp regeneration.
Max Level 20[15mp]: 700% damage. Hits only one monster. Absorb 8% of dealt damage in hp. Absorb 5% of dealt damage in mp. Has a 20% chance to cause a state of 'Petrification' which will cause the monster to stop moving and attacking for 7 seconds(bosses are unaffected). (lv1 has a 1% chance for petrification and lv10 has a 10% chance for petrification)

Crumble[Active]: Using the earth and ground around you, you reinforce your pickaxe for one hardhitting blow. If the opponent is in the state of 'Petrification', the monster will be destroyed completely(Not including boss monsters!)
Max Level 30[45mp]: 700% damage.

Elemental Absorption[Passive]: Every time you use an elemental based attack, elemental fragments burst out and around, and can be quickly absorbed to give a helpful stat boost or be used for a devastating attack. One bar is filled, pickaxe will
Max Level 20: Requires 60 elemental fragment releases (1 is released and instantly stored and shown in a bar[similar to marauders energy charge] for every time and from each monster that is hit with a elemental attack, such as earth puncture, pillar blast, engulf, crumble, and lava burst). [header]=Cannon Wielding Class=[/header]
[header]Second Job: Detonator[/header]

Monsters will not be aggressive toward you, and will walk randomly, even while under attack. Hits 350% damage. Lasts for 5 seconds. Monsters will still deal damage if they randomly walk into you. Monsters with flash effect on them will take an extra 25% damage from any attacks dealt to them.

Flak[Active]: Switch cannon type to Flak. Normal attack is still used to attack with flak. Flak hits multiple enemies in a straight line as the cannon shatters and ricochets off the monsters. Use again to deactivate.
Max Level 30[100mp]: 4 second switch time. Chances normal attacks to flak. Hits once on first monster, twice on second, triple on third and quadruple on fourth. First hit does 150% damage and decreases by 30% damage after each monster. Hits 4 monster max.

Land Mine[Active]: Lay a bomb that is indicated by a small black flag. Lay bomb with skill. Activate by right clicking skill on top right or just let skill run out.

. .
. [header]=Third Job: Cannonade (Mercenary)=[/header]
The third job cannon wielding class obtains knowledge and receives a powerful boost through the usage of double shelled cannon balls and the ability to lay multiple mines and traps and skills that allow the cannon's normal attacks to hit splash damage. Cannonade means "a heavy fire of artillery". They also get their first non-normal attack skill here!

Cannonade: Skills

Backfire[Active]: When this skill is activated, every time you get hit or receive damage through a monster, you will fire a shot directly at that monster, stunning it. A buff, not a skill. Once activated and used 10 times, buff must be re-used.
Max Level 30[15mp]: Upon being hit 40% chance, fire two shots consecutively for 250% damage each. Total time for firing is .2 seconds. Buff lasts 180 seconds.

Havok[Active]: Quick attack that can be used in-between your normal attacks. Initializing your training, you quickly load 3 cannons at once, and quintuple(5x) the amount of gunpowder used to fire three cannonballs and sends you flying.
Max Level 30[35mp]: 300% per cannon ball. Recoil backwards about one normal knock-back distance. 5 second cooldown.

Explosives Mastery[Passive]: Train your use and initialization of your bombs and traps.
Max Level 20: Allow a total of 3 bombs total of each type(6 total). If placed on top of each other or very closely, it will result in consecutive explosions. Set up time reduced to 2 seconds. (Lv1: 1 bomb of each type. Consecutive explosions. 4 second setup. Lv10: 2 bombs of each type. Consecutive explosions. 3 second setup. Originally has 4 second setup, and only one bomb total from either bomb or trap.)

Beacon[Active]: By firing a magic beacon shot(has a charger that determines how far or how close you shoot the beacon at), you create a beacon that will light up as a white square on the mini-map. By pressing on the dot on the minimap twice, you will be teleported to that spot. You must have caught your breath first. This skill is not use-able on jump quest maps.
Max Level 30[100mp]: 30 second cool down per beacon setup. 2 Beacons at a time. Beacons last 8 minutes. One magic rock per beacon. Teleport cool down is 10 seconds. (Lv1: 60 second cool down per beacon setup. 1 beacon at a time. Beacons last 2 minutes. Teleport cool down is 20 seconds.)

Duty Calls[Active]: Call upon a cannonade (the word means "Firing artillery in a large amount for a length of time&quot to reinforce your battles! Set up bunkers that will attack monsters.
Max Level 30[200mp]: Create a bunker (takes about 5 seconds) that is stationary and takes damage (about 200k hp). Will fire cannons at enemies that come within its firing range. One target at a time. Deals 500% damage per hit, fires a cannon every 2 seconds. Up to 3 bunkers can be set up per map.

Critical Mastery[Passive]: Learn the fatal parts to hit to increase damage on hits!

.
. .
[header]=Fourth Job: Grenadier=[/header]
The fourth job continuation for the cannon wielding class evolves their weapon into Rocket Propelled Grenades(RPG) cannons. Using the new incredible damage and their mastered aim they can create a explosive attack with devastating damage.

Grenadier: Skills

Maple Warrior[Active]: Increase all players' stats within a party by certain percentage.
Max Level 20[40mp]: 600 seconds, all stats + 10%

Rocket Science[Passive]: The grenadier upgrades their weapon and completely utilizes the cannonball for a rocket blast type shot and an explosive impact.
Max Level 30: Doubles cannon usage, triples gunpowder usage. 150% damage(100 damage turns into 150). Slowed attack rate. (90% of current normal attack rate)

Discharge[Active]: The constant battling causes the weapon to start to heat. Release this heat to inflict damage and blast back monsters. The cannon will glow and blink red when fully charged.
Max Level 30[44mp]: 800% damage, 12 monsters max, within 300 range of grenadier, knock back a distance of 400. Takes 30 shots to charge. Charged cannon will lose its charge if Discharge is not used within 30 seconds.

Grenade Launcher[Active]: Switch cannon type to Grenade. Normal attack is still used to attack with grenade. Use again to deactivate.
Max Level 30[100mp]: 1300% damage. Hits 3 monsters.

Wound[Active]: Every time a monster is hit with enough damage to knock it back, it will become "wounded" with a percent chance. Does not affect bosses.
Max Level 30[40mp]: Does NOT affect bosses. 60% chance. Reduces movement speed and spell casting speed by 50%. Reduces damage dealt to all maplers being attacked by that monster by 50%. Takes a constant hit of 10% of it's hp everyone 2 seconds. Effect lasts till monster is dead.

Monster Trap[Active]: Lay a trap that explodes a sticky trap over monsters that walk near it, holding it on the spot, capturing up to 10 monsters at a time.
Max Level 30[300mp]: Lasts for 60 seconds, captures 10, deals damage only when trap time runs out or is canceled. 500% damage to captured monsters.

Nuke[Active]: This could be considered an ultimate for the Cannonade class. Launches a nuke that will explode anything on your screen.
Max Level 30[1000mp]: Uses 100 cannons and 150 gunpowder. Same range as a genesis/blizzard/etc. 1800% damage. 30 second cooldown.

.
. .
. .

[header]=Character Information=[/header]
[header]Weapons, Armor, & Ammo[/header]
Weapons: Pickaxe weapons become larger in size and their attack damage increases as their level progresses, however they become slower too. The Cannon's become larger and stronger as their level progresses but their speed does not decrease.

Armor: Due to each jobs low health, slow speed and lack of replacement damage shields, they completely require their levels armor to catch up with the damage they receive at their training places. Their pure defense and stamina boosts in the later levels make up for their low health and slow speed. This class would be better off without wearing sauna's or bathrobes. Each armor set level has two types of armor. For example, the level 100 armor, would have a granite form, and a steel form. The granite forms have a 25% magic attack damage reduction and the steel have a 20% physical damage reduction. Each armor's defense gives a little less than double that of a warriors. Plus with the combination of Granite Defenses skill, their armor becomes immpenatrable!

Ammo: This is only for cannon wielding class. They use cannonballs and gunpowder. They both can be bought in stores. However, you can find or create your own reinforced cannonballs and find or create your own refined gunpowders. Neither are rechargeable, however are held in bundles of 10000. Fairly easily forge-able in the (added) refineries (found in every city), however to make them yourself, the maker quest must be completed to forge your own. Reinforced cannonballs and refined gunpowders can be forged by all classes and are trade-able. Both are made by combining monster crystals with the original cannonball or gunpowder. Each shot uses one of each, unless the attack has multiple shots. The reinforced type of the fired cannonball changes the color of your projectile cannonball, and the refined types of gunpowder change the smoke color the emits from your cannon upon shots. Normal styles are grey. The Mediums are orange/red. High quality styles are blue-ish with a faint fire design following the cannonball and emitting out of the cannon. Rare styles are purple, and these give random bonuses, such as acc(white), avoid(black), speed(pink), jump(yellow), and even hands(green).

Mount
The mount, received at level 50, would be a kind of giant sand rat/mole/thing. While standing still, it sits up, out of the ground, you sit on it's back (with one of those wooden things that a pepe rides a yeti with). While you move, the sad rat goes under the ground (creating a moving lump animation on the ground like the sand rat does) with you sitting on your wooden seat/platform/thing above the ground.

Stat Build
Both classes use STR as its main stat and DEX as its secondary stat.

Advancement
Their classes hometown is in sleepywood. Where a taxi would be implemented and available for easy access to the town.

[header]Extra[/header]
Try not to mistake Cannons with guns. Cannons are held below the waist and sort of dragged along, being that they way a ton. Pickaxes are... sort of like the lv25 (was it 25?) pickaxe weapon we already have, except fancier.
And yes, cannonades, like arans, use normal attacks, but their normal attacks are near as strong as others skills.
As for character control: Eartherns can go wild with their pickaxes, like any other melee class, while Cannonades require strategic planning and placement of their mines.

[header]=Bonus!=[/header]
I thought I'd give you an example of a cannonades "strategic planning and placement" battle style (as stated two or three lines above).
Himes. You set up 3 or 4 mines on the far right, in left to right order. A priest (or yourself) lures and runs on over to the far right, and as attacks the himes as they near. When they pass over a mine, explode it, the next one, explode, next... you get the point. These can be used in various ways.

If you took the time to read it, hurrah!
If you didn't read it and still posted, what a waste!

Do enjoy though. Dreamers can dream.

Got constructive criticism? Do tell!
Wow i like how you made a class to atleast use a BW...nice
Trouble-some for cannons...So it's like cannons not guns right
And so the adventurer's are in sleepywood now?
Overall good concept, story, and job/skills
Haha, the pickaxe would SORT of be like an edged bw, but it would be a whole new weapon set, like the cannons. And the storyline is just a storyline. Like when they had the alien event, they just changed the background, so the "Ludi disassembled to no recovery" would just have a disassembled ludi background. xD
The job advancement and whatnot is pretty much the same for all classes etc.
This totally sounds like something I'd play. I like how you implement the mouse into some of the skills, that's interesting. I probably wouldn't play the cannon class; I don't like using the normal attack all that much, and doing it from 1-70 would be hell. But the pickaxe class sounds awesome. Great idea for a pirate hero maybe?
Haha, don't forget the cannonade's traps, mines, summons, and their ultimate. (:
Plus, their normal attacks pretty much look like exploding skill like attacks.
Oh! And it's their main attack method till 200. xD
Wow, i remember someone writing the almost exact same class a few months ago... you stole his work and took the 25knx...
Uhm, nope. That was me. If you've read anything in my post, you'll notice I said I'm reposting it. Look at my Basil ID and past threads. You'll find my old one(s).
The LAST thing I would do is steal another persons work. I made videos, and I know I'd be unhappy if someone stole my work and claimed a reward and credit for it.
This. Is. Mine.

EDIT: I just realized you cant see my thread history..
eh, what, do you want an SS or something.

I see haha!
A map altercation class would be a tough one to program LOL. xD

Brilliant work. You deserve 100k nx for this in my book. If only the newer classes were this creative, but they're probably planning a new "dual gunner" class knowing how Nexon thinks.
Nice job but would they be able to dig real tunnels and alter the map? lol it would probably be best if they couldn't
For the engulf skill? No, it just would a bit of the ground for the skill duration and people can walk over it and jump down to hop in and avoid being it. The hole is restored after the skill runs out.
Nicely Done U should give them a moving skill (Ex. haste for thiefs) maybe if they pulled out a mining cart and it was kinda like rush.

P.S. this sentence ^^ probably sounds weird, i didnt know how to phrase it properly.
One word came into my head when I read this.
R O C K E T
J U M P

Perfect for cannonades LOL.
However, I made cannonades with the intent of having their strategy be like a stationary fighter. They have summons that can protect it, traps to stop monsters on either side, and a stead stream of attacks from their cannon for drawing monsters farther away, etc etc. xD
Good job but nexon shouldn't take this seriously. Gonna be another three op ksing classes.
I'd expect a very slow moving, low HP class, to not be a great KS'er.
Purposely designed it that way. xD

@Ravath: theres only one regret, im a black wing member. It'll be pretty awkward once we meet on the battlefield
Ah, I love it. Are they a warrior class? Like, would they equip warrior armor?
They're supposed to be like a whole different class xD
They use their own armor, as explained in the armor section. xP
Either steel or granite. One is good with m.def and one with reg.def.
You should send this to Nexon, maybe they'll hire you o.o
Haha, wouldn't that be epic.
But I wouldn't want to cause anymore commotion for maple, since I'm sure you can tell what new jobs brings.. every time.. and what people complain about.. xD
