A world without money?

It may be somewhat hard to imagine(Heh, good old John), but I think it would be a much better alternative to what we have right now.
I've made a blog post which I don't believe I should paste into this box for convenience purposes(Imagine scrolling past it everytime, whew) but it enumerates all the thoughts I could put into words during the past hour. Mind you it might not be totally comprehensible on some points as I typed it while rather tired and it's 1am without rereading and in one sitting, but I don't think it should pose that much of a problem.

All I'm asking is that, before posting and voicing your opinions, which are undoubtedly incredibly biased, especially considering the subject at hand,, you read the post, preferably in its entirety but I know at least 99% of you are going to just tab out and go do something more entertaining, though it's still worth a shot. I'm mainly looking to develop my train of thought, so feel free to comment. ALso remember that the real contents of this thread are in the blog post, so it'd kinda beat the purpose of replying if you didn't read at leasrt part of it. Preferably with an open mind.

Also, this just in, I am aware I'm probably one of only a handful of people to use tumblr for serious works.

This was sort of where the foundation of communism was thought of, except it was getting rid of private property.

Your idea and communism work in an ideal society, but what makes them impossible to be achieved is our human greed, and our wants infinitely exceeding everything else. We are greedy by nature, and we can't change that.

Even if there was no currency, there would be trade. If there was no trade, we'd kill each other for the things we want. Sadly, that's society.
Money as in currency?
My dear boy, items such as animals use to be currency.
There was always a currency in the world, whether it be item for item, money for cash, cash for money, or labor for item, or labor for cash. Currency has always been there as trade has always been there.
You get what I mean.
This. Society wouldn't exist without trade, not the way it is today. Money is a form of currency that is really meant to better this necessary trade through organization and regulation so that people don't savagely kill each other when they think a transaction is unfair (otherwise there is no way to measure it). It's for our benefit. Yeah.

Sounds like Communism.

In other words, it just won't work in the long run.

After the history lesson and pointing out the flaws of Capitalism, you seem to make the ending point that Communism is the route the world should take. The problem, as you might have stated in there, is that it only looks good on paper. As humans, greed and lust eventually end up overtaking the desire for communal teamwork and without genetic modification, there's nothing anyone can do about it. Once one man says they're too lazy to do their job, it creates a ripple effect, causing the rest of the society to follow suit and leading down the path of destruction. It's understandable that you would want to veer away from Capitalism, as it really does have many flaws, but there simply isn't another viable option right now.

"Rewind thousands and thousands of years ago. Surely, you cannot imagine our ancestors having anything akin to a currency, right? Unless I am harshly misinformed, that would be true. Our ancestors were still primitive beings in some way and so simply strived to survive, which is understandable considering they did not have any real reassurance they would live to see the next sunrise. Were the native Americans unhappy before us Europians landed on the coast of America? Likely they were not, because they only wanted to survive and spend time with their families and friends. To be fair, they lived in much smaller communities which encouraged cooperation between everybody, and did not have as advanced technology as we have or even had at the time of the colonizations. But even then, would money truly be crucial?"

turns out you're harshly misinformed. but the europians forgive you.
And this is the part where cynics (such as yours truly!) get to make fun of you for thinking a blog post changes sound economic theory.
I'm not trying to change anything, just throwing my ideas out there. I'm well aware I only have one follower that happens to be my friend who couldn't care less to read whatever I write on there.
I just can't stand having all these ideas inside my head without at least having some way to share them with people.
