Updates

Maplestory is 15GB

When Ascension came out, i went to patch my Maple. However, there were continuous errors in patching then notices popped up saying i had less than 200MB left in my hard drive. I deleted Combat Arms, restarted computer then i tried again. But it still said i had less than 200MB left. Then i went to check my Maple folder and what? It says it is 15GB large. Theres this folder inside it called zhmfqdpj.$$$ that i can't shred or delete, because it always says it's in use.
Help please!

Edit:
I can't uninstall Maplestory as it is not in uninstall programs, and the folder file is now 17.6GB when i didn't do anything...

I have tried restarting.
Also, when i use command prompt to DEL C:..... or ERASE C:...
it says that those files's filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.

Have you attempt to restart your computer and then delete those .$$$ folders? Like it have been said a few times in this thread, they are temporary folders that get made during a patch. They usually get deleted after the patch finished; however, it will be left behind if the patch fails. It's not a virus like some people have been saying.

@Jace: I'm just saying that the Maplestory folder is < 3 GB. Obviously the TS has some issue with formatting or SOMETHING. Come on, Call of Duty isn't even 15 GB...
Re-install it.

But anyways, 15gb isn't even that much nowadays. Heck, my WoW folder is 28gb and my FMA Bluray collection is almost 50GB.
If you had read previous posts, i can't uninstall.
Also, i have one heck of a small comp.

That's the problem!
I can't clear them.
Not to mention now my Maple is 17.6GBs without me doing anything.
all those random files you're getting are all temporary files for patching maplestory. you can delete them

Mind telling me how to do that?

It isn't there because you probably didn't use the installation file, instead, you probably downloaded a .rar or each and everysingle file at once.

You mean, like North Korea? I mean, I heard it's communist, so of course they won't show many videos about it.

Those "zhmfqdpj.$$$" folders are all patch folders that the patcher uses. It downloads from Nexon's servers and then places them in the files, but since it appears that your patcher keeps crashing, it keep redownloading them again and again adding up to the extra 13GB.
