Screen

My last screen is really outdated, so I decided to post this update. I don't play often anymore (better things to do, lack of interest, etc.) but I've had some down time over the past few weeks which lead me to check things out on Maple. It turns out that I didn't have to change my keyboard configuration too much, but I made minor changes to accommodate the updates I/Ls received over the past 7 or so months.

The setup is exactly what is comfortable to me. The default keyboard setup works for nobody; everyone ends up changing many things about it. I hardly put any thought into this layout-it evolved as I played. I will now highlight some points of what has worked for me with it.

I'm used to the space bar being a jump button (admit it, alt feels a bit awkward as a jump button) so as soon as I made that change, the rest fell into place. With my thumb on the space bar, my pinkie was comfortable alternating between control and shift, and my other three fingers had no problem activating my buffs and c,v,b skills.

If you look closely, you will notice certain areas of logic that appear in my keyboard configuration. The first is that I removed that stupid cash shop key from my keyboard...how many times can you remember accidentally hitting it?? The second is that the main shortcuts I use (quests, world map, equips and buddy list) are all near my buffs where I can easily reach them, and consequently, the shortcuts I don't use too much are not within...well...easy reach. I suppose it could be argued that everything is within easy reach because it's a keyboard, but WHAT I'M REALLY SAYING is that the shortcuts and skills I use most are all near each other. Following this idea, the third area of logic is that all my chats are in one row, and the chats I use most are right by each other. My expedition tab is beside by expedition chat, and my whisper shortcut is beside my that of my messenger. Party tab is by party search, and all my items/skills with quantities/cooldowns can be seen in the quick slots or whatever they're called, right below where the screenshot here cut off.

Shortcuts like chairs, skill tab, monster book, (& in general things that you only open up when you're in a safe location) are all located on a part of my keyboard that I don't need quick access to.

I think this pretty much sums things up. Oh and I don't like the traditional "f7" emote so I just took it off and left its spot blank.

My macros are weird because magic guard is in there twice, which isn't necessary. Whatever floats your boat. I also haven't maxed all my skills since there's new ones now, but it's not a big deal to me (it'll come together in a bit).

My range in this picture IS unbuffed, it's just red because of my ABR. I have that 30% ignore def codex, and some %boss from my inner ability, empress set effect, and from somewhere else I cannot recall. I have roughly 60% int, and I have no idea how much m.att. I'm guessing around 500 m.att but I'm not sure. I also get a lot of my range from other characters (empress's blessing, blessing of the fairy, link skills (although I got lazy with them and most are just level 1), character card effects, etc.) so that should be noted too, if you care about my range.

I'm not sure where my extra speed and jump comes from. I also have a hat that has a 10% chance to make me smile when I'm attacked so if you ever see me smiling while training in-game, it's probably because of that!

This was somewhat fun.
