I have a feeling high level maps tend to have better crystals, I might be wrong though.
There are a lot of purple veins in Magatia Lab Areas. There are also a lot at SH, but I don't think it's as good as Magatia.
I fight Krexel every day, and on my way there I mine purple vines.
There are a lot of purple veins in Ulu City,Every map has at least 1 vein.
Just going back and forth through the maps and changing channels every now and then should yield a decent amount of crystalls
I think orbis tower where there are fire/ice sentinels has them and you can just cc to refresh the map.
I'm not completely sure though because this was a while ago.
