How to tell if a computer is good for gaming?
I was wondering what things you should look at in a desktop/laptop to tell if it is fast as in smooth for gaming, little lag or none, etc. (Things like the computer's RAM, and whatever else that you need to look at to determine if it is a good/fast computer)

@decency1: forgive me for being off by $100. Please dont kill my family.
ok well again, it depends.
I dont know how big of a gamer you are. Hence, runescape, minecraft, and maplestory could run on a netbook. Wow, LoL & starcraft could run on any decent $500 laptop w/ a 3rd gen i5 and an hd4000 (not on high settings ofc). But skyrm, and other true gamer games, require systems upwards of $900.
again, show the comp and the games you want to play.
but if you want a description of specs required per game, and you want me to guess which games you play and break down the specs and cost required for each one.
not gonna happen
if you want general, @vibeh has got it.
if you want real help, post the computer/ the games you play, and we can go from there.
video/graphics card > processor > RAM
Other things like SSD can speed up loading times but they don't affect performance as much.
show the comp and the games you want to play and we'll answer compatibility questions. otherwise get the best of everything, and you'll be safe. but that'll cost a tad more.
I wanted to see like which specs too look at , like RAM, etc .
show the comp and the games you want to play and we'll answer compatibility questions. otherwise get the best of everything, and you'll be safe. but that'll cost a tad more.
If it's a mac then you win
Processor, graphics card, RAM as you said,
