What happened to the social part of Maplestory?
I was always a talkative person on Maplestory. I made online friends mostly through PQs, and the Orbis ship. Now in this current version, hardly anyone talks. Because of the planes, no one is on the Orbis ship anymore and hardly anyone participates in the FUN PQs, since there's better places to level up. Most guilds are all about bossing/training, or they're quiet. When I see people that do talk, I end up hating their personality so I never talk to them (Examples: ppl who tlk lyk dis, noticeably improper grammar, people who do not understand sarcasm, and nice people). I'm an on and off player, so over the years the people in my buddy list quit. This has gotten to a point where I now have more friends in real life than I do in Maplestory. Since I'm in school and I actually do my homework, I usually play Maplestory on weekends. Weekends are the WORST to play during. It's x2, so everyone isn't wasting their time by talking, and I don't know where popular training spots are so when I enter a map that I plan to train in, it's usually empty. I joined Maplestory to meet new people and to have fun. It's now quiet wasteland filled with zombies that only want to level up. SMH Maplestory.
This is a rant about the new Maplestory.

@Nhil: I usually start a new world with a friend I know in real life, but I could never continue playing in the world because I feel like I stepped into unknown territory that I simply can't adapt to. Like for example, when Galacia was added onto the world's list, I created a character right away and I made it to level 30 in a week with my friend. I quit that character because I didn't enjoy playing that character, I felt like it was a chore to play it. I hardly made any buddies there, and when I did, they would quit and rejoin their previous world.
I feel you on this. I used to log on because I looked forward to talking with the friends I'd met. Nowadays... bleh...
While I agree with the overall theme about maplestory having become anti-social, the way you present yourself makes you very unlikable.
Well i only know one good reason why it's like that. It's not summer anymore and there's school so people have less time to play so mhmm yeah

I think what might have added to the less social aspect was that most guilds, buddies and alliances make skype calls instead of typing in game.
I've actually seen multiple people use the excuse "Can you just call me I'm too lazy to type"
I wish there was a quick fix to this; I've joined so many of those fresh world starts where everyone is suppose to be all about being social but it always ends up feeling so fake and forced that I leave within the first month.
I only have three people left on my buddy list that even know my real name
It might be time for me to move on unless I find the right group of people
big bang happened
lol i noe how you feel. I used to be playing when tiger and sushi were alive. i had a lot of friends, and that was when guild used to come out. back then, it was really hard to quit cuz you noe more friends than in real life. I had a maple life back then, in grade 8. the summer of gr8, i guess not alot of ppl played, and everyone kinda got sick and tired of it. and in gr10, i came back, with one of my ms brother lol. he had a lot of his real life friends playing then, and we did guild pq and stuff. it was reallly fun... cuz i rmb we used to do it everyday, and with all of those meso explosions. right now, i guess im still kinda going on and off, since school is really busy, and barely have time to play. I used to have like what, 25-30 friends out of 50 be online during weekend, and now, its like 6 or 7 maximum, but i guess i kinda joined a pretty good guild, where ppl actually do include me in lol. So, i guess u have to kinda find the perfect ppl and perfect guild to accept you.

Does that even work? i tried it and they are always afk. ._.
This game community started to become less and less social ever since Big Bang came, and they kept updating with more and more things to do in the game.
Eventually, they kept giving revamps and revamps so almost everybody was able to fight more or less by themselves.
Than potentials came and everyone cubed the crap out of their equips and can solo Zakum in 6 seconds so they don't need to get in parties anymore.
PQs aren't done anymore because people just want to play by themselves and grind. It sucks.
And Henesys was never really social to begin with, it was only filled with afk people with a lot of NX.
well things changed when BB came
everything is not the same you know it changes every day.
We could be great friends; I usually stay quiet in the game because I don't want to attract any D-Bags.
You could always use listings to meet new people.

True story. I seen it happen
I'm pretty social with about anyone. Hene hoe or not hene hoe. I just talk with them with any topic that comes into my mind, and people love to talk to me. Guess it just happens. Oh well, just be a leader and see if people will talk with you more.
It will get better in december
LF> Original 3 worlds haha
There are a few group of people that do talk and enjoy maple, you just have to find the right people.
friends in rl always better then maple story friends..
Just a game in the end not your life story
Of couse you have more friends in rl then maple

@Niernen: I was a talkative one. I had around 20-23 online friends that I actually spoke to. When I was not playing Maplestory, I made more friends in the real world, but I was losing online friends. To be honest, I don't even consider the people I meet in Maplestory "friends". They're more like people I talk to frequently in Maplestory.
We all know the solution to this problem....become a hene hoe and talk to other hene hoes? problem solved ....nuff said.
Preach it, sister.

I'm describing the people who are so nice that they're boring/can't keep a conversation.
Let me know when you find an answer to this problem
I believe that the people who stick in Henesys should all be pushed in a giant hole.
Hene is a giant hole.
everytime I go to ludi pq or kerning pq just for fun, nobody's there
tldr, but based on the title it looks like you need to up your henehoe-ness.
died after bb
My guild has about 7 active members. Back in the day we had +30. Were just as social as we were then if not more.
You haven't found it yet.
tldr, but based on the title it looks like you need to up your henehoe-ness.
Ever since it became easier to level up, the game has stopped being... "social."
