Iphone wont charge.

Hey basil I have a tech problem with my Iphone 5c.

So last night when I was going to go sleep I would always charge my phone. When I connected it with the wall charger I didn't hear the sound when the phone is charging.. I connected it with the laptop once and I didn't charge.. Or it didn't show up on itunes.

I have searched this problem online and a lot of people are saying that there is lint in the port of the phone, I checked there was lint, took it out with a toothpick blew it with compressed air, and tried charging it again, it didn't work.

I am asking here what should I do? Get a new charger? Does it have to do with some software on Itunes? Please help!
